Wednesday season two: Netflix series gets launch date and first glimpse of Joanna Lumley
The first trailer for the second season of Wednesday - the most watched show in Netflix's history - has given fans the first glimpses of Joanna Lumley and Steve Buscemi in their new roles, alongside a host of returning streamer has announced it will split the new season in half - releasing the first episodes on 6 August and the second batch on 3 September. This series follows Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, as she returns to Nevermore Academy, now under the leadership of new principal Barry Dort (Buscemi).Also joining the school this term is her little brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), a character described by executive producer Tim Burton as an "outcast among outcasts". Wednesday's parents will also have an increased presence on campus this season - "a rare new form of torture for the fiercely independent amateur sleuth", Netflix first full-length trailer, which was released, appropriately, on Wednesday, opened with the show's lead character going through airport security. I get to wear many, many huge wigs, one on top of the other - and lots of quite constraining clothes, so I love it." In the trailer, Wednesday's mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) notes it's the first time her daughter has returned to school her part, Wednesday describes returning to school as "like returning to the scene of the crime", noting that she "already knows where the bodies are buried".Later, the young Addams daughter is seen attending a macarbre tea party for a group of dolls."Wherever there's murder and mayhem," Wednesday reflects, "you will always find an Addams."The trailer's reference to "mayhem" could hint at a previously reported cameo appearance from Lady Gaga, who recently released an album of that will be hoping the series replicates the success of the first. Its decision to split the new season in half is likely due to efforts to retain subscribers, refresh its platform and increase the hype around the show. Brute who sucker-punched Steve Buscemi in random NYC attack shares head-scratching apology as he's sent to prison
The brute who sucker-punched 'Boardwalk Empire' star Steve Buscemi in Manhattan last year mumbled a head-scratching apology Thursday — as he was sentenced to six months in jail. Clifton Williams, 51, said he was 'sorry' for assaulting Buscemi, 67, who was taking a stroll through Kips Bay when he walked up to the Hollywood icon and slugged him in the face on May 8, 2024. 'I only maintain the fact that there was an incident brought before me between myself and Mr. Buscemi on that date, and I'm sorry,' Williams said, wearing a tan prison jumpsuit as he faced Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Melissa Lewis. Williams, who was homeless at the time, pleaded guilty to assault charges on March 12 and was also sentenced to five years probation and two orders of protection — one against Buscemi and another person he slugged the same day. Prosecutors have said that Williams was walking on the sidewalk near East 15th Street and Third Avenue when he struck a 22-year-old man with a closed fist in an unprovoked attack at 11:30 a.m. Nine minutes later, Williams then walked up to Buscemi and randomly clocked him in the face, causing Buscemi to fall to the ground, according to authorities. Williams then fled from the scene. Williams was arrested more than a week after the attack after an eagle-eyed officer recognized him at a homeless services building in Chelsea, where the attacker was complaining about having property swiped. Buscemi, known for roles in 'Fargo' and 'Billy Madison,' was spotted days later with a black eye and a swollen cheek while shooting a commercial in Soho. Williams claimed that he mistook Buscemi for someone else he had known and that the actor had told him that he was going to 'kick my ass' before the savage attack, court documents show. Buscemi, who made a cameo appearance in Apple's new show 'The Studio,' was not in court for his attacker's sentencing. A publicist for Buscemi didn't immediately respond to an inquiry from The Post.

Over the past 20 years, Buscemi has created an incubator for streetwear brands and worked for everyone from DC Shoe Co. and Lotto Sport to Oliver Peoples, mainly as a luxury footwear designer. Buscemi's newest venture is called Redan, a private membership club that offers the well-heeled curated experiences at legendary courses and other high-end experiences. He has partnered with Andrew Pavoni, whose background spans tech and e-commerce businesses, who serves as chief executive officer, as well as designer Safa Tazegideh and Jonathan Rich, a luxury retail expert. The site went live in January and counts 225 founding members, who paid several thousand dollars to gain access to the site and its concierge service. 'Redan is the essence of a lifestyle brand,' said Pavoni, adding that the site can help members secure tee times, book trips and restaurant reservations at key locations around the world. The site has relationships with Cipriani, Carbone, Torrisi, Atlas Card and PS at LAX. Now Redan is launching an apparel collection of Italian-made sporting pieces that honor the traditions of golf but can also be worn off the course. Although many other brands, such as Peter Millar and Grayson, that got their start in golf are also targeting a lifestyle customer, because Redan is sold direct-to-consumer it is not 'a slave to the wholesale market,' Buscemi said. 'We don't have to fit into any price box. We can make a garment and then price it.' Among the pieces that will be offered in the inaugural collection are Italian-made pique polos, trousers and windbreakers, as well as cashwool crewnecks and polos, a duffle and caps. The bulk of the collection is menswear with a few unisex pieces. In the future, Redan expects to add more womenswear, it said. Unlike other brands, Redan breaks down the price of each garment for its members, disclosing its supply chain traceability and cost structure. For instance, a long-sleeve polo costs $271.99 to manufacture in Italy, fabric and trims add $90.67 and freight, duties and tariffs are $61.48, so the retail price should be $850. But the members' price is $650, Redan outlines. Other prices include $250 for a pique polo, $700 for a cashwool crewneck, $400 for trousers, $900 for a windbreaker, $1,200 for a duffle and $85 for caps. The collection will be available exclusively to members through the Redan app, and eventually include seasonal offerings and collaborations with companies such as Tiffany & Co., Bettinardi and FootJoy, the company said. Although Redan has golf as its centerpiece, the partners know that despite all their high-end connections, there are still some clubs that they can't get their members access to. These include Augusta National and other coveted, yet private courses. Pebble Beach remains an option and the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland is 'a tough ticket,' Buscemi acknowledged, but with enough notice, Redan may be able to score a tee time.
