Madonna Traded Her Signature Platinum Blonde for a Brunette Bob

Madonna showed off a new hairstyle—a retro brunette bob—in honor of her mom. The singer's late mother was also named be fair, Mother's Day is every day when you're a Madonna fan. But this weekend—one week after most of our mom-celebrating Instagram stories expired from our friends' feeds—mother Madge decided to continue the celebrations for her *own* giver of life. In an Instagram story posted on Sunday, May 18, Madonna revealed that she'd dyed her hair a cool brown shade full of chocolate highlights and some chic grays. She's a natural brunette, but this particular transformation held a deeper meaning. "I missed my mother so I channeled her," she wrote alongside the photo, which showed her staring offscreen, covered in necklaces and wearing her dark hair in a retro curled bob. The singer's mom, who was also named Madonna Louise, died in 1963 when the artist was five years old. In the past, Madonna has posted photos of her mama, and now that their hair is matching its obvious their similarities extend beyond their shared name. Her recent vintage hairstyle—which she showed off just days after rocking a bleached shade with dark roots—ended near her chin and featured a big, bouncy curl that was so very '60s. Based on the photos I've seen, it's the exact look her mom wore when she was little. 'My mother is the only other person I have ever heard of named Madonna,' the 66-year-old told Time back in the '80s. 'I never had trouble with the name ... I went to Catholic schools. And then when I got involved in the music industry, everybody thought I took it as a stage name. So I let them think that ... It's pretty glamorous.' As is a retro brunette bob. Madonna has so much star power, and we know exactly who she got it from. Read the original article on Byrdie

Pamela Anderson's Met Gala Bob Is Her Most Dramatic Hair Change In Decades

Pamela Anderson attended the 2025 Met Gala wearing a sculptural gown and major hair change. Her flippy bob and sharp bob are her most dramatic haircut in decades. While she was once synonymous with a messy updo and party girl smoky eye, these days Pamela Anderson is known for a totally different beauty look. After deciding to go makeup-free for Paris fashion week in 2023, her go-to beauty vibe is all about glowing skin and soft loose waves or an effortless beachy blowout. However, at the 2025 Met Gala, she premiered a short, chin-skimming bob, and it's the most dramatic hair change she's made in decades. For the Monday, May 5 event, Anderson's hair was worn middle parted and flipped out in a perfectly mod yet entirely of-the-times style (the girls have been loving a flippy bob lately) that still retained some of her natural texture. Her fringe, which she often wears long and wispy, was styled straight across and also cut short, veering into baby bang territory. With her famous locks glowing as blonde and buttery and ever, the whole thing felt very '60s Mia Farrow at the beginning of Rosemary's Baby. The fact that it was a gloomy day in New York helped with the comparison... though I'm not sure Rosemary would pick the same gown. Rocking a fresh complexion per usual (who needs heavy liner when you have your Sonsie products and a face like that?), Anderson chose to provide us with some glitz and glam in another way. Standing in stark contrast to the flowy and ethereal nude Oscar de la Renta gown she wore to her first Met Gala in 2024, her 2025 dress by Tory Burch was structured and glittery. The gown featured a sculptural boatneck that stood above her shoulders, long sleeves, and a floor-length skirt, all made up of the same sparkling rhinestone and crystal-covered fabric. Last year, the actor capped off the night with a solo stroll through Central Park. While her hair won't be flowing in the wind as she (hopefully) continues that tradition, I'm sure she'll still feel pretty free. You can take the girl off of Vancouver Island and cut off her ability to throw up a casual thong-tied updo, but she'll forever be herself. That's why we love her—and those thin brows—so much. You're running your bath wrong! Experts reveal the correct way to fill your tub - and why you should NEVER use bubble bath

There's nothing like running a lovely, hot bath at the end of a long day. But it turns out you've probably been filling your tub wrong this entire time. Experts have revealed the correct way to run a bath - and why you should never opt for bubble bath. To come up with the perfect bath formula, the researchers asked 2,000 adults what their favourite bathtime routine was. The results revealed that the ideal time to opt for a soak is 8pm on a Sunday night. And, while many people like the water to be as hot as 45°C, the perfect temperature was actually found to be 39.8°C. Meanwhile, instead of reaching for the bubble bath, the experts advise an alternative combination. According to their results, the optimal extras are soaking salts, candles, and at least 10 drops of essential oils. The survey, commissioned by British Gas, found Brits take an average of 96 baths a year – the equivalent of two a week. And one in 10 even admitted to having had three or more soaks in a single day. Nearly a quarter said they like the water to be as hot as they can bear when they dip their toes in – between 43 and 45°C. Meanwhile an unexpected cold bath was ranked as one of the top ways to ruin someone's day. The poll also found that in the event of no hot water in the home, 17 per cent would use their gym membership purely for a hot shower. Meanwhile 12 per cent would consider asking a neighbour if they could pop round to use theirs. Separate research carried out by Victorian Plumbing found the optimum amount of time to spend in a bath is 22 minutes. The study also found that you're likely to start feeling dehydrated after 28 minutes, and that scrolling through your phone is the most relaxing activity to do while soaking. Tim Hollinger, co-founder of Bathing Culture, has previously spoken of how to create a relaxing bath atmosphere. Removing the shower curtain – if there is one – and rinsing the tub is a good first step, he told the website Byrdie. Setting up the space by keeping the bathroom clean and decluttered is another important step in creating an oasis. 'Add some plants or a flower cutting, put on some low-key music and mass up a big pile of towels next to the bath,' he said. Adding soaking salts can also enhance the experience – but only use one at a time, he said. While magnesium salt flakes are good for physical relaxation, an Epsom salt soak also does wonders to soothe sore muscles. He also recommended lighting some candles and adding at least 10 drops of essential oils to provide enough scent. A spokesman for British Gas said: 'We know how much Brits value bathtime, so now is the time of year to check your boiler is in tip-top condition, or you may find yourself sheepishly standing at a neighbour's door in your towel.' Scientists in Canada recently claimed to have cracked the code for the perfect day. According to the experts, it includes six hours of family time, two hours spent with friends, 1.5 hours socialising, two hours exercising and one hour eating and drinking. Additionally, the perfect day should involve no more than six hours of work and less than 15 minutes of commuting.

Avengers: Doomsday Cast Rumor Teases Major Marvel Superhero Team in Sequel

Avengers: Doomsday may bring back the Exiles from What If…?, according to new insider claims and growing speculation across fan communities. Although Marvel Studios has yet to confirm their involvement, recent scoops and the franchise's multiverse direction have fueled theories that characters like Kahhori, Byrdie, and Storm with Mjolnir could join the film's expanding cast. 'I hear the Exiles are in Avengers: Doomsday,' posted insider @MyTimeToShineHello on April 28, 2025, on X (formerly Twitter). The scoop hints at a crossover of multiversal proportions, suggesting the Exiles—originally introduced in Marvel's What If…? animated series—could play a role in the upcoming Avengers film. The MCU version of the Exiles likely includes Kahhori, Byrdie, and a variant of Storm wielding Thor's hammer—characters previously introduced in What If…?. Their potential return builds on Marvel Studios' expanding focus on alternate timelines and multiverse-driven narratives, seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki. In the comics, insectoid beings called the Timebreakers recruited the Exiles to fix broken realities. They operated from the Panoptichron, a hub outside space and time. The Timebreakers selected alternate versions of heroes—Blink (Earth-295), Morph (Earth-1081), Nocturne (Earth-2182), Mimic (Earth-12), and Magnus (Earth-27)—to carry out missions across divergent timelines. The team's lineup changed often. They battled Weapon X and clashed with alternate versions of Xavier and Magneto. Their journey led to a final confrontation with Hyperion at the Crystal Palace. Later arcs added new members like Psylocke and Sabertooth. Morph eventually became the team's leader. Together, they fought threats like the Time-Eater—a version of Kang who absorbed Galactus' powers. Marvel Studios has not confirmed the Exiles' appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, but their multiverse-centered missions align with the MCU's current direction. Their extensive comic history offers numerous characters and story arcs that Marvel could adapt for future films.

Kate Hudson's New '80s Perm Couldn't Be More Goldie Hawn-Coded

Kate Hudson revealed the first look at her new film, Song Sung Blue. In the photos, she debuted an '80s perm that makes her look just like her mom, Goldie Hawn.I know, I know—it's important to chart your own path through life. And Kate Hudson absolutely has!! But if my mom was Goldie Hawn, you can bet I'd be doing everything in my power to be just like her—perming my hair and ignoring most current styling trends included. On Tuesday, April 22, the first look at Hudson's new film Song Sung Blue landed. Premiering this Christmas, the biopic focuses on The Sardinas, a down-on-their-luck married pair of musicians that decided to form a Neil Diamond tribute act in the '80s. Claire (that would be Hudson) and Mike (he'll be played by Hugh Jackman!) definitely knew who Goldie was at the time—Claire's hairstyle can attest. Though we only have one photo to go off so far, the still is very telling. In it, an '80s-fied Hudson and Jackman sit down at a keyboard and sing their hearts out. And while I know it's the 46-year-old in the photo, she really looks just like her mother. In the snap, Hudson's hair is middle parted and blown out to fit the "bigger is better" theme of the era. Her curtain bangs graze her eyebrows just like her mama's did back in the day, and her crimped, curly blonde hair has a texture that could only be the work of permanent solution. Gone are the beach waves. In their place: pouf. Hudson was born in 1979, which means she was just a babe when the Sardinas story was being written. Still, I'm sure she remembers the styles well—especially because she had her iconic mom to look up to. "Loved every second making this beautiful film, working with the most lovely work husband you could ask for, [Hugh Jackman], singing the iconic songs of Neil Diamond, led by our wonderful director [Craig Brewer]," wrote Hudson in an Instagram post that showed off the style (I'm just waiting for Hawn to repost). "More love notes for everyone involved to come… but right now I am just so excited to share with you that we have a release date." As the months fly by and ads for the film roll out, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of the hairstyle. Here's hoping Hudson decides to go full method with her press tour styling... and then maybe stars in a '60s period piece? I wouldn't be mad about seeing her in a Goldie Hawn-inspired shag, too.
