C.A.S.T. hosts fishing events for kids with special needs
JEFFERSON, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — Catch a Special Thrill (C.A.S.T.) is bringing several fishing events for children with special needs to East Texas.
Free fishing weekend in Louisiana allows catch without license
C.A.S.T. is a nonprofit organization that held its first event in Eastern Washington in 1992. Since then, it has steadily grown. In 2025, C.A.S.T. is on pace to hold over 100 events across 26 states.
C.A.S.T. for Kids events pair children with special needs and their caretakers with community volunteers for a day of fishing.
