Texas A&M baseball loses utility player to the 2025 transfer portal
The 2025 college baseball transfer portal is officially open, and several Texas A&M Aggies have entered their names in hopes of finding a better fit for the 2026 season. As a reminder, entering the portal does not mean a player has to leave; however, entering early gives them the best chance of finding a landing spot.
On Sunday, Andrew Riedell of College Baseball Central reported that utility player Jamal George has entered his name into the transfer portal after his lone season at Texas A&M. The former Alabama State Hornet competed for the starting outfield role and played in 34 games with 17 starts. However, with the emergence of freshman Terrance Kiel II and Caden Sorrell returning to the lineup, George could not hold a starting position.
He always brought the energy that was sorely missing all season long, but he could not back it up with consistent play. George finished the season with a slash line of .231/.277/.307, with four RBIs and two stolen bases. Below, you can see the official announcement from the CBC Transfer Portal X account.
