Head to the App Store and never miss a beat in Lanarkshire - iOS - Android The range of homes includes flats, semi-detached properties and bungalows, with 22 of these being wheelchair suitable, and a further 57 amenity houses meaning they can adapt over time to meet tenants' needs. Designed and built to the highest standard, the new homes feature solar panels, EV charging points and modern, energy-efficient heating systems. A sod cutting event took place to mark the council's 66th development beginning on site. Housing convener, Councillor Michael McPake, cut the first sod and was joined by local councillors Andrew Bustard and Geraldine Woods, together with representatives from North Lanarkshire Council and CCG Scotland. ‌ Councillor McPake said: 'In addition to delivering fantastic new housing for Coatbridge, the development will bring benefits to the local community including local jobs, work experience placements and financial support for community projects. 'Built in the heart of the local community, the homes are close to local amenities and have excellent transport links. "We're continuing to make significant progress transforming communities and building new homes across North Lanarkshire which are meeting the needs of our tenants now and for generations to come.' ‌ The £26.8 million project is supported by a £13.2 million contribution from the Scottish Government.
