"Dexter: Resurrection" Trailer Is Finally Here
Yara Sameh
Paramount+ with Showtime has dropped the official trailer for 'Dexter: Resurrection,' a sequel series to 'Dexter' and 'Dexter: New Blood.'
Michael C. Hall will once again return as the titular blood splatter expert/serial killer Dexter Morgan after starring in eight seasons of 'Dexter' and recently narrating Season 1 of the prequel 'Dexter: Original Sin.'
The new trailer premiered as part of the 'Dexter: Resurrection' panel at CCXP Mexico City, a pop culture convention being held in Mexico City over the weekend.
It features Hall's charismatic killer back in action just weeks after he took a bullet to the chest at the hands of his son Harrison (Jack Alcott.)
According to an official synopsis, the new series will follow Morgan as he 'Sets out for New York City, determined to find [Harrison] and make things right.'
'But closure won't come easy,' the synopsis continues. 'When Miami Metro's Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined – and that the only way out is together.'
'Resurrection' will premiere with its first two episodes on July 11, followed by new episodes weekly thereafter.
'We are thrilled to have the brilliant Michael C. Hall reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime's most successful series ever,' said Paramount co-CEO Chris McCarthy.
'Dexter: Resurrection' is executive produced and showrun by Clyde Phillips with Scott Reynolds executive producing.
The star-studded cast includes Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, and David Dastmalchian.
The original 'Dexter' ensemble featured Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, James Remar, C.S. Lee, Luna Lauren Velez, Desmond Harrington, and Julie Benz.
