Two teenagers have been arrested and charged after they allegedly broke into CF Polo Park, stole from stores and bear sprayed security guards.
According to Winnipeg police, the teens were observed breaking into a truck in the parking lot of the mall Sunday morning. When someone witnessed it and called police, the pair ran into the mall.
Police say the pair broke into a store, prying open drawers and stealing a laptop. They were seen trying to break into a second store to steal a cash box, but security guards confronted them.
The pair allegedly sprayed bear spray at several guards and then tried to run away. They were caught by police near a mall entrance and arrested.
An 18-year-old and a 15-year-old male were both charged with 18 offences, including break and enter, weapon offences and breaching court orders. They have both been detained in custody.
