Pana man arrested, accused of traveling to meet a minor for ‘sexual purposes'
PANA, Ill. (WCIA) — A Pana man was arrested late last week after the El Paso Police Department concluded their investigation into sex crimes against a child. 44-year-old William Carnahan was taken into custody at his home in Pana on May 22. Multiple departments respond to Memorial Day fire in South Macon According to the CHAOS Task Force, Carnahan had been communicating with a minor, and had arranged to meet them for 'sexual purposes.' The El Paso police, a member of the task force, apprehended Carnahan and the Pana Police Department assisted. Now, Carnahan is facing two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, grooming and distribution of harmful material. The task force reminds the public that all are innocent until proven guilty. Man facing charges for traveling to meet a child, indecent solicitation in Forrest
FAIRBURY, Ill. (WCIA) — A man was taken into custody by the Fairbury Police Department for 'sexual crimes against a child' on Saturday. 47-year-old Dustin Cota from Wisconsin was taken into custody Feb. 15 after the Fairbury Police, a member of the CHAOS Task Force, completed their investigation. 13-year-old, 34-year-old dead after fire in Virden Cota had been communicating with a minor under 15, according to police. Throughout the investigation, he had sent Valentines Day gifts, made arrangements to meet the child for 'sexual purposes' and drove 198 miles to meet the child in Forrest. The Fairbury Police determined that Cota is a sex offender in the state of Wisconsin. Cota was taken into custody for indecent solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child.
