Veterans return after 34th Greater Peoria Honor Flight
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Several veterans from central Illinois were in the nation's capital as part of the 34th Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
Veterans and their guardians took off from the Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport earlier Tuesday morning. The group spent the day traveling around Washington, DC and visiting war memorials and monuments.
Their flight returned shortly before 10 p.m. and veterans on the flight were welcomed home to the cheers of friends and family members.
This is the second of four flights happening this year.
