The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA-class enters its third generation, and this time it debuts as an EV. The production version also takes a lot of inspiration from a previous concept car, including myriad three-pointed-star details.
The electric compact luxury car comes as the CLA250+ with EQ Technology and the CLA350 4Matic with EQ Technology.
The CLA250+ features a single electric motor that makes 268 hp and feeds the rear wheels.
The CLA350 4Matic features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain that's good for 349 horsepower.
Every CLA EV sold in the U.S. features an 85.0-kWh battery, and it's expected to provide up to around 400 miles of range.
Compared with the last-gen CLA, the new models are about an inch taller and longer.
These illuminated three-pointed-star elements in the headlights are inspired by the Concept CLA.
The tri-star motif also extends to the front of the car in the area where a traditional grille usually goes.
The CLA EVs ride on the brand's new 800-volt MMA electrical platform, allowing charging speeds up to 320 kW.
Unlike other Mercedes EVs, the CLA models feature extra storage space thanks to a front trunk.
The CLA EVs are slated to go on sale this fall, and a new hybrid CLA (pictured in back) will follow sometime after that.
