Daltonganj students take a tour of Town police station

Daltonganj: Around 50 Class IX students of CM School of Excellence (KG Girls High School) in Daltonganj visited the Town police station on Monday for an educational tour. Town police station officer-in-charge Deobrat Poddar and his team of women officers welcomed the students. The students showed particular interest in the separate holding cells for men and women and detention conditions. A woman officer cautioned the students about deceptive friendships and relationships. She said, "These days girls and boys run away from home. They become intimate but then things end badly. So beware of such fake friends and false friendship." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Cost Of Amusement Park Equipment From Mexico Might Surprise You Amusement Park Equipment | search ads Click Here Undo "There is hardly any week here when there is not a case of elopement of girl with boy. Sometimes it creates a lot of problems. So we asked the girls to be careful," Poddar said. The students were also told about the proper use of emergency number 112 and how they can dial the number in case of harassment, such as street taunting or unwanted advances. The visit included education about FIRs and online filing procedures. When asked about interest in police service, six students expressed enthusiasm. Some inquired about height requirements for female officers. The police station provided sugarcane juice to students and saplings to teachers. SP Palamu Reeshma Ramesan had instructed officers to organise such visits to address misconceptions about police stations. Officers also demonstrated the Insaas rifle's operation to the students.

Hazaribag takes extra caution

Hazaribag/Chatra: The NEET-UG exam was conducted at eight centres in Hazaribag amid extra security on Sunday. The examination was also conducted with tight security and peacefully at one centre in Chatra district. In Hazaribag, the question paper was delivered to various examination centres from the designated locker amid tight security. Last year, question papers of the exam were leaked while transporting them from the locker to one of the centres. This year, a foolproof plan was executed with routes to the eight centres under strict monitoring. The question paper was made available to the students with caution and the process was also videographed. Hazaribag DC Nancy Sahay and SP Arvind Kumar Singh conducted surprise inspections of different examination centres. Sahay confirmed that the examination was conducted following all rules and monitored with CCTV cameras. SP Singh said over 200 personnel have been deployed at the examination centres and all rules and SOPs have been followed right. In Chatra too, the NEET exam was conducted in a peaceful and malpractice-free environment amid tight security arrangements. The exam was held at the CM School of Excellence where 347 candidates were registered but only 338 turned up.
