Lucknow: Stating that UP govt's flagship initiative — the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM Yuva) — was rapidly emerging as a game-changer for aspiring young entrepreneurs across UP, an official spokesperson on Friday said that provisions under the scheme were encouraging people to take up new career choices. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "So far, over 53,000 loan applications have been approved under the scheme, with more than 40,000 beneficiaries already receiving funds to set up their enterprises. Many of them have set up ventures in diverse sectors such as cake manufacturing, laundry services, digital marketing, interior and exterior designing, mineral water plants, tattoo studios and solar panel installation," the spokesperson said. Citing an example, officials said that Prabhnoor Kaur of Kanpur is a case in point. "Prabhnoor received training in cake manufacturing and took a loan of ₹4.25 lakh in Mar 2025 to start her own unit called 'Sweet Sculpt by Kaur'. Her business is running successfully, and she has employed two women," they said. Likewise, Yashwant Vishwakarma of Lalitpur used a Rs 5 lakh loan to start a tattoo studio while Anurag of Jaunpur began a solar panel installation unit with a loan of Rs 4.5 lakh. Both these people became job-givers from being job seekers. Yet another example was that of Aniket Singh in Chitrakoot. "Once a laundry worker in Gujarat, Aniket started his own laundry unit with a Rs 5 lakh loan. He now earns Rs 30,000-Rs 35,000 per month and employs three others," said the spokesperson. Launched in 2018 by the department of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), the CM Yuva scheme offers loans of up to ₹5 lakh with no interest or collateral. "This initiative is playing a pivotal role in boosting self-reliance among the youth and contributing to the state's larger goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy," the spokesperson said, reiterating that with a goal of establishing 10 lakh micro-enterprises over the next decade, the UP govt has earmarked Rs 1,000 crore in the 2024-25 budget for the scheme. CM Yogi's bulldozer policy a symbol of strict governance: Min
1 2 Lucknow: Minister of state for social welfare (independent charge) Aseem Arun on Monday said that CM Yogi Adityanath 's bulldozer policy is a symbol of both strength and strict governance. Arun said that the current BJP govt's model embodied 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. Hitting out at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, in what can be seen as an ongoing tussle between BJP and SP over who is more genuinely concerned about Dalit welfare , that the former CM lacked both the will and strength to govern effectively. In the second such attack by Arun against the SP leader in the past week, the minister while addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Monday, accused Akhilesh of heaping atrocities on deprived sections of society while he was in power. "It was Akhilesh's narrow mindset and discriminatory policies which led to his ouster by the public. During his tenure as CM , the atrocities against SCs and Backward Classes are still fresh in public memory. He insulted Ambedkar by changing the name of a medical college in Kannauj and rejecting a statue of Lord Buddha," the minister said. Demanding that Akhilesh explain his intentions to the public and apologise, Arun said SP chief was trying to mislead the SCs and the poor, reminding people that it was SP which halted scholarships for SC children, which the Yogi govt later restored. "Unemployment rate, which stood at 13–14% during the SP regime, has dropped to 3% under the Yogi govt. The current govt is not only providing jobs but also promoting youth entrepreneurship through interest-free loans under programmes like 'CM Yuva'," he said. Insisting that Yogi Adityanath takes decisive, well-thought-out actions, unlike Akhilesh, Arun added that the UP govt was working for all religions and castes. A former IPS officer who resigned to join politics, Arun highlighted transparency in police recruitment under the current dispensation, comparing it with Akhilesh's tenure which he said was marred by corruption in recruitments. He added that 56 out of 86 UPPCS candidates came from a single caste then, against the current situation where the recent PCS J exam was completed in a record eight months. He further said that during the SP rule, police postings and jobs were distributed based on caste favouritism.

CM Yuva scheme to boost biz skills among SC youth
Lucknow: Govt on Friday announced that the CM Yuva scheme , a programme to promote self-employment among youth by helping them secure easy loans, will be linked with the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyudaya Yojana . This will promote entrepreneurship among SC youth, particularly women, by making them self-reliant and encouraging business ventures, said an official. To make the grant-in-aid scheme implemented by the social welfare department more beneficial, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that it be tied to employment-oriented training. "The scheme supports employment-based projects by organising SC beneficiaries under a cluster model. Each beneficiary is eligible for a grant of up to Rs 50,000 or 50% of the project cost, whichever is lower. With the integration of CM YUVA, this grant will now serve as margin money, paving the way for easier access to institutional loans and enabling beneficiaries to start their enterprises," said a govt spokesperson. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Best website creation site | Build your store in minutes Shopify Shop Now Undo For more tangible results of social welfare schemes, the CM directed departments like MSME, the state rural livelihood mission, and CM YUVA to collaborate and develop a joint action plan.
