Pahalgam Tourist Alleges Pony Operator Asked Her Religion In Viral Video; Police Arrest Him In Swift Action

Pahalgam Attack: The Ganderbal Police has arrested an individual on Thursday after it was claimed that he was asking around the tourists about their religious identity in Pahalgam's Baisaran Meadows where several terrorists gunned down tourists on Tuesday.
A video was widely shared where a woman tourist had alleged that the individual had asked her about her religion and other details during the attack.
She had also shared the photograph of the individual.

The police took a prompt action and apprehended the man, identified as Aiyaz Ahmad Jungal S/O Gh Nabi Jungal today.
A resident of Gohipora Raizan in Ganderbal, Jungal works as a pony service provider at Thajwas Glacier in Sonamarg.
The suspect has been subjected to sustained interrogation and the police have complicit legal course of action.
Meanwhile, the police and other probe agencies have intensified the manhunt for the terrorists.
'In view of prevailing scenario so as to liquidate the threat perceptions, Ganderbal Police alongwith Army, Para , CRPF and SSB adapted an aggressive approach and started combing operations especially in those areas where ANEs can possibly take refuge or had connection with the OGWs and other supporters," it said in a post on X.
The action came in the aftermath of the Pahalgam carnage on Tuesday in which 26 tourists were shot dead in broad daylight by the Resistance Front terrorists, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
After the attack, the diplomatic ties between India and Pakistan downgraded with New Delhi announcing several punitive measures, including suspension of Indus Water Treaty, cutting Islamabad Mission strength and expulsion of its military attaches, as per decided by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in view of cross-border links to the devastating terror attack.
Subsequently, Pakistan announced several retaliatory moves, including suspension of all its bilateral agreements and trade activities and closing its airspace to Indian aircrafts.
