CHICAGO (WGN) — A group of Chicago police officers is recovering in the hospital after they were injured in a crash while attempting to recover a stolen vehicle on the Northwest Side overnight. According to police, the incident unfolded just after 8:30 p.m. Monday night, in the 5200 block of West Palmer Street, in Belmont Cragin, after officers spotted a car they believed had been taken in a carjacking. Read more: Latest Chicago news and headlines Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over and activate the squad car's emergency lights, but the other driver allegedly refused to stop and continued driving. Officers continued following the driver, but as they approached the vehicle, they had to swerve to avoid hitting another car in traffic, which caused the officer driving to lose control of the squad car and crash into a tree. Police say the three officers inside the car all suffered injuries in the crash and were all taken to the hospital in good condition. Amid the crash, the vehicle that was the subject of the traffic stop fled the scene and no arrests have been made. An investigation into the incident is now underway. CHICAGO (WGN) — Police are searching for answers on Wednesday morning after an overnight rolling shootout ended in a crash on the city's Northwest Side. According to police, the incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 7700 block of West Belmont Avenue in Dunning. Read more: Latest Chicago news and headlines The incident began as the victim, a 23-year-old man, was driving east along Belmont and he was involved in what police described as a 'road incident' with another driver who was traveling in the same direction in a white sedan. Amid the incident, officers said the driver of the white sedan allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire on the victim. The victim, who officers said was a CCL holder, then returned fire. The shootout eventually came to an end when the driver of the White sedan crashed into a building before fleeing the scene. According to police, no injuries were reported and the building involved in the crash suffered damage, though the extent is unclear. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and an investigation is now underway. He was last spotted on that day in the 4400 block of North St Louis Avenue in Albany Park on the city's Northwest Side. LATEST CASES: Missing people in Chicagoland Martinez, who stands 5-foot-5 and weighs around 160 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. Officers said the missing man was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket, a gray Old Navy sweatshirt, blue jeans as well as black and gray shoes. A photo provided by Chicago police shows the missing man with a goatee, though it is unclear if he had one at the time of his disappearance. CHICAGO (WGN) — Two men were hospitalized on Friday night after they were both stabbed during an argument on the city's Northwest Side. According to Chicago police, officers were first called to the scene in the 3700 block of West Leland Avenue, in Albany Park, just before 9 p.m. on a report that a person had been stabbed in the area. When officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old who had suffered multiple lacerations to his body while walking along the sidewalk. Authorities later found a second individual, a 40-year-old man, who had sustained more severe injuries. Officers said the second victim suffered multiple lacerations and was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition. According to police, the two men sustained the stab wounds after they got into an argument that eventually became physical. Officers said both men then allegedly pulled out 'cutting instruments.'
