Man injured after argument leads to stabbing on Loop CTA platform
CHICAGO (WGN) — A search is underway on Wednesday morning for the person who stabbed a man during a fight on a CTA platform in the Loop overnight. According to police, the incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday night on the platform of the Clark/Lake Blue Line station in the 100 block of West Lake Street. Read more: Latest Chicago news and headlines Officers say the victim, a 42-year-old man, got into an argument with an unknown male on the platform but when things escalated, the argument became physical. Police say amid the fight, the perpetrator pulled out a sharp object and lunged toward the victim, leaving him with a laceration to his right hand. Following the incident, the person responsible fled the scene while the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in good condition. It remains unclear what led up to the argument and an investigation is now underway. Man killed after argument leads to shooting on South Side overnight
CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago police are searching for the person who fatally shot a man during an argument on the city's South Side overnight. Chicago police say the deadly shooting occurred just before 1:30 a.m. in the 7800 block of South Merill Avenue, in South Shore. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found the victim, a 56-year-old man, unresponsive in the front yard. The man, who had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and hand, was later pronounced dead on the scene. Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed and it is unclear what led up the altercation. An investigation by Chicago police is now underway. 3 CPD officers injured after crashing into tree while pursuing stolen car on Northwest Side overnight
CHICAGO (WGN) — A group of Chicago police officers is recovering in the hospital after they were injured in a crash while attempting to recover a stolen vehicle on the Northwest Side overnight. According to police, the incident unfolded just after 8:30 p.m. Monday night, in the 5200 block of West Palmer Street, in Belmont Cragin, after officers spotted a car they believed had been taken in a carjacking. Read more: Latest Chicago news and headlines Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over and activate the squad car's emergency lights, but the other driver allegedly refused to stop and continued driving. Officers continued following the driver, but as they approached the vehicle, they had to swerve to avoid hitting another car in traffic, which caused the officer driving to lose control of the squad car and crash into a tree. Police say the three officers inside the car all suffered injuries in the crash and were all taken to the hospital in good condition. Amid the crash, the vehicle that was the subject of the traffic stop fled the scene and no arrests have been made. An investigation into the incident is now underway. CHICAGO (WGN) — Police are searching for answers on Wednesday morning after an overnight rolling shootout ended in a crash on the city's Northwest Side. According to police, the incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 7700 block of West Belmont Avenue in Dunning. Read more: Latest Chicago news and headlines The incident began as the victim, a 23-year-old man, was driving east along Belmont and he was involved in what police described as a 'road incident' with another driver who was traveling in the same direction in a white sedan. Amid the incident, officers said the driver of the white sedan allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire on the victim. The victim, who officers said was a CCL holder, then returned fire. The shootout eventually came to an end when the driver of the White sedan crashed into a building before fleeing the scene. According to police, no injuries were reported and the building involved in the crash suffered damage, though the extent is unclear. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and an investigation is now underway.
