Where are they on that project: The Vault on Main
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – After years of wondering and waiting, there is now substantial growth and progress in downtown Evansville as The Vault on Main gets closer and closer to completion. The update from project officials: The Vault on Main remains on schedule. Crews with CRG Residential say the building's framing is roughly 50 percent complete. Workers are now adding windows, roofing systems, as well as electric and plumbing inside.
Once complete, the downtown lot will house 161 residential units, ground floor retail space and around 180 underground parking spaces. Land at 4th and Main streets is expected to be used as a public park. A project spokesperson says that retail space will soon be listed for leasing.

Work on the underground parking space is nearing completion, as well, with crews adding final touches of lighting, signage and utilities. This substantial progress comes 3 and a half years after the 420 Main building came tumbling down, leading into a period of uncertainty for the lot. But now, an end date is in sight, with a clear view of an idea quickly taking shape.
Costs for the nearly $60 million project remain on track, with CRG saying early material ordering has prevented any issues or disruptions related to recent tariffs. Pre-leasing for prospective residents is expected to begin in the Spring of 2026, with The Vault on Main planned to open to those residents later that Summer.
