Competency tests for teachers from May 10, says BSEB
Patna: Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) chairman Anand Kishor announced on Saturday that competency test (CT) 3.0 would be conducted between May 10 and May 15, CT 4.0 between June 15 and June 16 and CT 5.0 between July 15 and July 16 for teacher candidates.
He added that the results for CT 3.0, CT 4.0 and CT 5.0 would be declared by May 31, June 30 and July 31, respectively.
"Altogether 30,221 teacher candidates have applied online to appear in CT 3.0," said Kishor. He added that teachers across all levels – classes I-V, VI-VIII, IX-X and XI-XII – have applied for the test.
It was also announced that online applications for CT 4.0 and CT 5.0 can be submitted between May 7 and May 14. Candidates who are unsuccessful in CT 3.0 and CT 4.0 will be eligible to appear in CT 4.0 and CT 5.0, respectively.
"Those teachers who fail CT 3.0 and CT 4.0 can pay their examination fee online for the next tests between June 2 and June 3 for CT 4.0, and between July 2 and July 3 for CT 5.0, after the declaration of the respective results," Kishor added.
CT 3.0 will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format with a duration of two hours and thirty minutes. The qualifying percentage is set at 40% for general candidates. For female candidates, differently-abled individuals and SC/ST candidates, the qualifying mark is 32%. Backward class and extremely backward class (EBC) candidates must achieve 36.5% and 34%, respectively, to pass the tests.
