The New York billboard dividing Americans
Connecticut has launched an aggressive billboard campaign in New York City, claiming that Connecticut is the "Pizza Capital of the United States."
Billboards have been strategically placed in high-traffic areas such as Times Square and even above New York City slice shops.
The billboards urge New Yorkers to call 1-844-CTPIZZA or visit to share their thoughts.
Connecticut 's tourism department has also taken to social media, challenging New York, New Jersey, Chicago, and Detroit's pizza.
While Connecticut residents lauded the claim, New Yorkers have responded with skepticism and criticism, with some calling Connecticut cheesy and saying the state has an inferiority complex.
