CT police recover 7 illegal firearms, arrest 3 people at Maitland Cemetery
CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police have recovered seven illegal firearms and arrested three foreign nationals at the Maitland Cemetery on Thursday. Police said they heard gunshots coming from the cemetery in Kensington and responded by blocking all the exit roads of the graveyard. They then saw about 50 people at a gravesite, some allegedly performing a gun salute. Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said that three firearms were found in possession of three suspects aged between 32 and 50.
"The members also recovered four firearms, a .38 special Taurus, a Glock 17, a Norinco 7.65, a CZ 7.65 and an extended magazine with 23 rounds found abandoned near the grave."
