23 brilliant restaurants and bars in JLT that you need on your radar

JLT is home to loads of wonderful homegrown restaurants, but there are also a few decent bars in the area if you're looking for a post-work drink, ladies' night or catch up with your mates. Selected from Time Out Dubai's best restaurants, which means you know they've been tried and tested – anonymously and independently. Here are the best restaurants in JLT Asian Street by Thai Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Asian Street by Thai. This teeny, tiny spot in JLT's Cluster F is perched right next door to the popular budget spot San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles, making the area quite the culinary corner. With around 20 seats you need to time it right to make sure you can get a space and once settled in you'll be delighted with the pocket-friendly, totally authentic, fuss-free Thai cuisine. Spring rolls, satay, green curries, pad Thai, pad kra pao and Thai omelette are among the classics here and they're all done expertly. One of the best Thai restaurants in Dubai, and one of the best value, too. Unlicensed. Cluster F, JLT, @‌asianstreetbythai (04 391 8828). Check out our full Asian Street by Thai review here Bait Maryam Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Bait Maryam. A tribute to chef Salam Dakkak's late mother Maryam, cosy Palestinian restaurant Bait Maryam is nestled in a corner of JLT boasting homely flavours and furnishings. Inside it feels like you're stepping into someone's home – and in essence, you are, with trinkets and booked all owned by Maryam found about the restaurant. Boasting Middle Eastern comfort food, try silky smooth hummus, muhammara and labneh dipped up with fresh bread, as well as pasta with yoghurt, shakshouka, soujouk, moussaka and kibbeh. There's a wide selection of moreish manakish, plus hearty grills, too. Unlicensed. Cluster D, JLT, (054 704 4774). Check out our full Bait Maryam review here Café Isan Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Café Isan. The winner of Time Out Dubai's Best Thai Restaurant for several years running, Café Isan really is the most authentic, fun and friendly spot to enjoy Thai food in Dubai. Found in JLT, the mismatched plastic furniture, Thai market-style bar, pop tunes and affordable prices make it the best Thai restaurant in Dubai, while the food is utterly delicious. Coming from the Isan region of Thailand, expect punchy flavours (Thai spicy really means spicy) with curries, stir-fries, noodles and more. Take a seat out on the large terrace in winter – but be sure to book ahead, the city's Thai food fans love it as much as we do. Licensed. Armada Avenue Hotel JLT, Cluster P, JLT, (058 529 1003). Check out our full Café Isan review here Canary Club Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Canary Club. This cool Miami-style spot from the team behind The MAINE, Canary Club has retro vibes and a US-inspired menu. Found in Banyan Tree Residences in JLT, the décor is cool and there's a large bar area. Credit: Franky's Pizzeria The Park in JLT is one trendy place to visit – being home to cool Asian street food eatery Hawkerboi and café Splendour Fields. And now you'll also find Franky in Florence here – one of the best pizzerias in Dubai, and one of the newest. Neapolitan-style pizzas come adorned with toppings including cavallo nero, black truffle and mushroom, mussels and prawns, 'broken meatball' or classic stracciatella. The interiors are decked out with foliage and artwork, while the views from this rooftop spot are also superb. Order a drink and enjoy a slice at sunset. Licensed. A petite, unassuming Peruvian spot in JLT serves absolutely brilliant ceviche. With super-fresh fish and packed full of flavour (and a fair amount of heat) it's one of the best Latin American restaurants in Dubai and a terrific place to delve into Peruvian food. With only a handful of tables, bag a spot at the counter and go with the chef's recommendations for the most authentic experience. The Peruvian juices are worth a try too. A laid-back restaurant that's a top one to check out if you're looking for something a little more off the radar. Unlicensed. Cluster Q, JLT, @fusionceviche (04 449 6292). Check out our full Fusion Ceviche review here Good Burger at Maiz Tacos Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Good Burger. Part of popular Mexican joint Maiz Tacos, Good Burger opened in 2020 and quickly found a following of burger fans in JLT. Promising to use only the freshest of premium ingredients, it's a small spot that packs a punch when it comes to quality. Get stuck into the original Good Burger if you're keeping things simple, or ramp it up a notch with the mushroom and Gruyère version. If you're a fan of Maiz Tacos, try the Birria Burger for a palate-popping combo of the two concepts. Unlicensed. Cluster Y, JLT, @‌goodburgerdxb (04 514 4712). Best restaurants in JLT. Check out our full Hanoi Naturally review here Hawkerboi Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: ‌Hawkerboi. A relative newcomer to the Asian dining scene in Dubai, Hawkerboi can be found at The Park in JLT. Offering cool, moody date night vibes with an interesting list of mixed drinks, Hawkerboi started life as a supper club, before setting up in its permanent location in April 2023. Now one of the best Asian restaurants in Dubai – and Time Out Dubai's Casual Restaurant of the Year for 2024 – Hawerboi is always buzzing. The open kitchen serves street food-style plates, think chicken satay, crispy fried squid, duck gyoza and banana blossom salad, as well as perfectly roast meat, flavoursome curries and palate-popping stir-fries. There's a tasting menu – which comes in at under Dhs400 for nine courses – if you want to explore different dishes, too. Licensed. The Park, JLT, @‌ (505 427 5217). Check out our full Hawkerboi review here ‌Jamie Oliver's Pizzeria Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: ‌‌Jamie Oliver's Pizzeria. As to be expected from a pizzeria behind one of the world's most famous chefs, Jamie Oliver's makes the kind of pizza you'll crave for no reason at all. Credit: McGettigan's JLT One of the most popular Irish bars in the city, McGettigan's JLT pulls in the crowds day and night, thanks to its fun-loving vibe and cracking deals. Brunches, happy hours, roast dinners, ladies' nights, live music, comedy – you'll find it all at this longstanding pub. The terrace is a prime spot for the winter months having all the feels of a proper pub garden. The food menu is a solid selection of burgers, wings, flatbreads, sausage and mash et al, which will fill you up and keep you happy. voco Bonnington Dubai Cluster J, JLT, (04 356 0470). Check out our full McGettigan's JLT review here Mythos Kouzina & Grill Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Mythos Kouzina & Gril Despite facing new competition every year, Mythos remains the best Greek restaurant in Dubai, no question. A go-to if you want incredible Greek food, prepared expertly at a reasonable price, there is now a second, similarly excellent Mythos at C2 in City Walk, but it's the OG that holds our hearts. Found in JLT, this cute taverna-style spot has a friendly vibe, a petite terrace ideal for cooler months and a menu jam-packed with home-cooked favourites that you won't be able to get enough of. From creamy, garlicky tzatziki, to comforting, flavour-laden moussaka and gemista, a glorious baked feta and an unmissable mixed grill platter (those lamb chops are outstanding), this is one you'll be returning to time and again – we guarantee it. Licensed. Armada Avenue Hotel JLT, Cluster P, JLT, (04 399 8166). Check out our full Mythos Kouzina & Grill review here Pickl Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Pickl Everyone's heard of Pickl – and with good reason, it's a giant when it comes to the best burgers in Dubai. A multiple winner of the Best Burger Bar in Dubai award, you can look forward to a perfectly seared patty, smothered in special sauce and snuggled into a squishy potato bun. Not only are the beef versions lip-smackingly good, but Pickl's chicken sando has become the stuff of legend, so make sure you order one of each – you won't regret it. Morning, noon, night – there's never a wrong time to dig into a Pickl burger. Unlicensed. One JLT, JLT, (04 584 6859). Check out our full Pickl review here Pitfire Pizza Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Pitfire Pizza It's done it again. New York-Neapolitan-style pizzas are the order of the day here at Pitfire. Pizzas so loved that they can be found at Time Out Market Dubai, the original branch is nestled in JLT's Cluster D. Set up by a husband-and-wife team, the pizzas here are massive and come fully loaded – Pitfire doesn't skimp on the toppings. There's everything from traditional pepperoni and margherita to turkey ham and pineapple and even potato or dates, meaning whatever your jam you'll find it here. The crusts are puffy and blistered and Pitfire is still the best pizzeria in Dubai (and the only place for those compulsory garlic knots). Unlicensed. Cluster D, JLT, (800 748 3473). Check out our full Pitfire Pizza review here Saigon Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: Saigon. Don't be deceived by the laid-back atmosphere of this casual Vietnamese spot in JLT – chefs here are serious about authenticity, serving up the likes of crispy spring rolls, healthy salads and steaming bowls of pho and noodles in a tiny, no-frills restaurant that won't break the bank. Prioritising quality over quantity (trust us here, it's one of the best Asian restaurants in Dubai), it's popular with both locals and expats alike, who can't help but be drawn in by the inviting smells emanating from the kitchen. Unlicensed. Lake Terrace Tower, Cluster D, JLT, (04 576 4466). Check out our full Saigon review here San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles Best restaurants in JLT. Credit: San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles Having opened in JLT in 2023, tucked away in an unassuming corner of Cluster F, right next to Asian Street by Thai, San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles' popularity has rocketed into it claiming the title of the best budget restaurant in Dubai, hands down. Service is friendly and there's a concise menu of Northern Chinese classics that you don't want to miss. Serving affordable, authentic Shaanxi cuisine, the main order here is, as the name suggests, those deliciously moreish noodles – which you can watch the chefs pulling in the kitchen. The chicken wontons are a must-try too. In short, don't miss it – it's a mighty find in a low-key location. Unlicensed. Cluster F, JLT, @‌ (050 759 9584). Splendour Fields From the team behind Tom & Serg and Common Grounds, you know you're onto a good thing if you stop by Splendour Fields. Found at The Park in JLT – in the same building as Hawekerboi and Franky in Florence – there are super views over the lawns, which make for the ideal backdrop for your coffee break. With special home-brews and baked goods from Rise & Dawn Bakehouse, a croissant and coffee is elevated here. In the morning choose from plates such as ricotta hotcakes, mushroom and truffle benedict or smashed avo, while later in the day salads, burgers and mains like Aussie parma star. A cute new addition to JLT's café scene from a respected brand. Licensed. The Park, JLT, @‌splendourfields (056 603 0897). Check out our full Splendour Fields review here Tiki's Bar by Canary Club Found atop Canary Club in DIFC, this extension of the popular restaurant has proved particularly popular since it opened its doors at the end of last year, and it's got some brilliant bar food to thank. Those taco makis, skewers, rolls and pizzas taste even better washed down with creatively-named mixed drinks – the Tahitian Traveller is a Time Out Dubai favourite. Licensed. Inside Canary Club, Banyan Tree Residences, JLT, (04 584 5999). Check out our full Tiki's Bar review here The Little Bali Credit: The Little Bali Another cracking affordable eatery in JLT – for authentic Balinese cuisine there's nowhere better in Dubai than The Little Bali. With budget plates that are bursting with flavour, the menu is traditional with top choices such as ayam taliwang (grilled chicken with lalapan, rice and sambal taliwang) and ikan goreng (crispy tilapia in a choice of sauces). You can also find more unusual meats such as oxtail and camel on the menu too. Don't miss the nasi goreng and satay sampler platter for classics done well. Unlicensed. Cluster U, JLT, (04 554 8575). Check out our full The Little Bali review here ubk Forget happy hours, it's happy days at this cool and casual hangout. The venue serves up happy hour deals from opening time to last orders. Not only are there great offers to be had, but this is a top spot to catch a game or a live band with pals, enjoy decent-priced, hearty pub grub (including a recently introduced Beyond Burger or a massive hot dog) and soak up the sun from the spacious outdoor area. Licensed. Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster A, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (04 438 0000). Check out our full ubk review here Vietnamese Foodies Vietnamese food has become a cornerstone cuisine in recent years, but if it's a no-nonsense venue, healthy cooking and wallet-friendly prices that really float your boat, you could do much worse than Vietnamese foodies. Home to steaming hot pho bowls that feature the legendary 14-hour simmered broth, this is the restaurant to go to for an unapologetically slap-up Asian meal in JLT. Unlicensed. Cluster D, JLT, (04 565 6088). Check out our full Vietnamese Foodies review here Need a reservation in the meantime? Dining alone in Dubai? 13 restaurants that are perfect for solo dining

Eating alone in restaurants. It sounds kind of scary, but it isn't really as bad as you'd think. In fact, many Time Out editors who eat out alone a lot of the time truly relish solo dinners. They enjoy the freedom of ordering what they want, not having to make any conversation and asking for the bill before dessert even gets to the table. But it isn't just us who think so. Taking yourself out to dinner is increasingly what's on the menu. More people are living alone and find it hard to make plans with friends as adults. More people actually enjoy not having to make plans with friends and can openly admit that eating out is actually really, really nice. Here are some of the best restaurants in Dubai for eating alone – because, why shouldn't you take yourself out on a date? Café Isan Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Café Isan. Purposely designed to exude a Thai street stall vibe, Café Isan is a charming space of plastic chairs, exposed lighting and stacked crates that line the interior. In keeping with its fun setting, the food is fantastic. Prices are reasonable, but the place gets full fast, so eating alone will help you get in there quicker. Head straight to the terrace, pick a little table and order a couple of small dishes to make the most of your solo dining. Staff here feel like family and will chat with you if you're in the mood for human interaction. Sun-Tue noon-midnight, Wed-Thu noon-1am, Fri-Sat noon-2am. Armada Avenue Hotel, Cluster P, JLT (058 5291003). Read the full review here. Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Fusion Ceviche. Are you a novice when it comes to Peruvian cuisine? Fusion Ceviche is a great place to start, especially if you're having a solo experience. This teeny JLT-based eatery is one of the most popular Latin American restaurants in Dubai thanks to chef Penelope Diaz's authentic Peruvian dishes. Its colourful décor featuring Peruvian flags, postcards and neon signs doesn't hurt either. Take a seat at the ceviche bar or by the window. The ceviches and pulpo anticuchero are not to be missed, either. Daily 11am-11pm. Saba Tower, Cluster Q, JLT, (050 421 4509). Read the full review here. FZN by Björn Frantzén Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: FZN by Björn Frantzén Named Time Out Dubai's Restaurant of the Year for 2025, FZN stands out not only for its incredible food and service but also for its immersive atmosphere and unique dining experience. And sometimes the best restaurants need to be experienced without any distractions. FZN in Dubai, sibling to Frantzén in Stockholm and Zén in Singapore, offers an exceptional 12-course tasting menu that blends modern Nordic cuisine with Japanese influences. Located at Atlantis The Palm, the intimate 27-seat restaurant features an open kitchen, allowing diners to interact with the chefs while enjoying a personal, immersive experience. Highlights include dishes like duck barbecue with yuzu, Kampot pepper, and foie gras, and turbot with Cecina de wagyu. The restaurant's extensive grape cellar, with 1,300 labels, offers curated pairings for every course. At Dhs2,000 per person, it's one of Dubai's priciest tasting menus—but undeniably one of the best restaurants in Dubai. Licensed. Atlantis The Palm, Palm Jumeirah, (050 107 6322). Read the full review here. Jun's Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Jun's. One of Downtown Dubai's best foodie destinations, Jun's, packs a restaurant, mixed drinks bar and terrace into one pared-back space, serving up progressive cuisine influenced by American-Asian flavours. Headed up by chef Kelvin Cheung, who has created a menu crafted using ingredients from his local farm and inspired by his Chinese heritage. The restaurant's simple setting lets the food do all the talking, so you don't have to do any. You can also take advantage of an early bird special from 5.30pm until 7pm, where you can enjoy two courses for Dhs150. So why not make that solo dinner early and live your best grandpa life? Daily noon-3.30pm and 5.30pm-2am. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Downtown Dubai, (04 457 6035). Read the full review here. Kinoya Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Kinoya Dubai. Feel like you've got no option but to get some ramen in your system? Off you trot to Kinoya. The licensed izakaya is split into a ramen bar, a main dining room, a private chef's table and two tatami private dining rooms. If you're eating alone, your best bet is to head to the ramen bar and take a seat to enjoy some of chef Neha Mishra's delicious bowls with front-row views of the chefs in action. But before you start slurping, order some starters (that you don't have to share), including the karaage, gyoza, robata and nigiri. It's all excellently executed and more than worthy of its stellar reputation. Tue-Sun noon-1am. Tower 2, The Onyx, The Greens, (04 548 6776). Read the full review here. Kokoro Handroll Bar Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Kokoro Dubai This incredible new-on-the-scene restaurant is located in the heart of Alserkal Avenue. Kokoro is Dubai's first hand roll bar, promising sushi lovers something really cool and interesting. The restaurant, which only opened its doors in March, already has the attention of the city's foodie community, particularly those with a penchant for sushi. With high chairs at a bar, it's great for a quick solo lunch or dinner. Wed-Sun from noon until sushi is sold out. Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz @ Read the full review here. Long Teng Seafood Restaurant Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Long Teng. Okay, the sheer size of Long Teng might put you off as a solo diner, but hear us out. Go all the way to the top floor and look for a little table with views of Downtown Dubai. Some dishes are small, which makes them perfect for one person to enjoy. Two to three appetisers should be enough, and the best part is that it's affordable prices. Sun-Fri noon-midnight, Sat 11.30am-midnight. U-bora Towers, Business Bay, (04 241 1666). Read the full review here. Mama'esh Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Mama'esh. Cheap eats in Dubai don't come much better than at Mama'esh. A homemade concept delivering traditional manakish flatbreads made from only organic flour using a wood-fired stone oven, there are a number of branches throughout the city, but our favourite has to be the one down in Al Manara, thanks to its perfect blend of cute and cool interiors plus indoor and outdoor seating. With prices averaging between Dhs9 to Dhs18 per manakish or Dhs15 to Dhs29 for fatayer, you could fill up here every day of the week. Stop by early on the weekend morning for a peaceful morning,g eating some of the best manakish in town. Go any later and you'll be fighting people for a table. Sat-Thu 7am-1am, Fri 7am-1.15pm and 1.45pm-1am. Al Manara, (04 453 8166). Read the full review here. ‌Mythos Kouzina & Grill Restaurants that are perfect for eating alone. Credit: Mythos. JLT isn't lacking in great casual dining restaurants, but Mythos is one of our go-to venues, especially when we want to nip out for a solo lunch. An intimate taverna with white-stone walls and cave-like ceilings, this laid-back Greek spot is also a top pick for a midweek dinner, nailing it with classic seafood dishes including sustainable local yellowtail tartare and extremely well-executed grilled octopus. Be sure to pre-game with traditional dips like fava, tzatziki and taramasalata. Daily 12.30-3.45 pm and 6pm-11.30 pm. Armada Avenue Hotel, Cluster P, JLT, (04 399 816). Read the full review here. On a mission to break boundaries with its creative take on Middle Eastern favourites, rotating menus are constantly changing depending on what's in season, but there's always local produce on the menu where possible. We've had multiple dinners alone here, just so we could focus and be more mindful while enjoying Orfali's award-winning cuisine. Daily noon-midnight. Wasl 51, Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah, (04 259 2477). There's everything from anticuchos to ceviche, clay pots and churros on the menu, so there's plenty to enjoy while you sway to the beat and soak in the lively vibe. Yes, it's had a few different names and themes over the years (remember the elegant pyjama party?), but three very crucial elements have remained. Excellent food with a wide variety of dishes than most brunches in Dubai, a good quality drinks package that caters to everyone, and an immaculate vibe, whether you're sitting inside or alfresco, featuring classy live entertainment. And the best part is, it's available both Saturday and Sunday. Dhs375 (soft drinks), Dhs510 (house beverages), Dhs755 (bubbly). Sat noon-5pm (three-hour packages). It's *stunning*. It's high-end Japanese (always a win) where you'll get a seemingly never-ending delivery of rather brilliant dishes. Each table receives starters to share, including salmon tacos, wagyu beef gyoza and Korean fried chicken, followed by a seasonal sashimi platter, served shrouded in dry ice for a touch of theatre. Signature maki rolls are made tableside, while each guest can choose one large dish (the grilled giant tiger prawn is impressive) which you can snaffle solo or share with your group. Your feast concludes with a dessert platter, so save space for a mochi or two. Dhs450 per person (sparkling), Dhs650 (bubbly). Sat 12.30pm-3.30pm. Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Jumeirah 1, (04 777 2232). With a selection of maki, nigiri, sashimi and more, plus robata and tempura, the brunch gets off to a strong start. Choose from dishes including the famous miso black cod, before rounding it all off with dessert. The service is excellent and the bar makes for a lively post-brunch drink. Budget restaurant meals under Dhs50 in Dubai

As much as we love indulging in lavish meals, sometimes our wallets just can't keep up with our cravings. Fortunately, the food scene in Dubai is diverse and filled with delicious options that won't (always) break the bank. From street food hearty mains, there are plenty of budget-friendly meals that make us (and you) very happy. You might also like: The 10 best budget restaurants to try tonight in Dubai We've scoured the city to bring you seven of our favourite dishes or meals priced at or under Dhs50, that deliver on taste, quality and portion size. So, if you're looking to save some money without sacrificing flavour, this handy guide is just right for you. 7 budget meals in Dubai Café Isan Designed to exude a Thai street stall vibe, Café Isan is a charming space of mismatched furniture, exposed lighting, a cut terrace and stacked crates that line the interior. In keeping with its fun setting, the food is fantastic and while it may be a cliché, the dishes really do melt in your mouth. Prices are reasonable too but, given its reputation, the place gets full fast so prepare to wait if you haven't made a booking. With all the starters well under Dhs50, the chicken wings Dhs40, grilled satay Dhs37 and laab cakes Dhs40 are our personal favourites. We will also almost always order the massaman curry for Dhs43 and the Pad Thai priced at Dhs49. Can you tell just how much we love Café Isan? Open Sun-Thu noon-midnight, Fri-Sat noon-2am. Armada Avenue Hotel, Cluster P, JLT , (058 5291003). Read the full Café Isan review here Calicut Paragon Credit: Calicut Paragon If authentic Keralan cooking, packed full of flavour and spice, is what you're searching for, Calicut Paragon is for you. An excellent Indian restaurant specialising in Southern Indian cuisine, this has been one of the best budget restaurants in Dubai for many years. Dishes are all under Dhs50, meaning you can tuck into a portion of the famous chicken biryani for as little as Dhs19, or tangy curries for Dhs42. Open daily 7am-midnight. Al Nahda, @calicutparagon (04 251 2545). Dampa Seafood Grill A bustling hub down in Deira serving up – yep, you guessed it – plenty of fresh seafood, Dampa Seafood Grill is inspired by the Philippine tradition of gathering around a table full of food to be eaten with bare hands. Leave your best shirt at home and prepare to dig into mounds of all manner of catch. Order almost any seafood item from the Dampa menu for under Dhs50 and it comes with unlimited white rice. Get your hands on the cajun shrimp for Dhs40 or the chipotle grilled crab for Dhs38. That and so much more. Open daily noon-11.30pm. Baniyas Rd, Port Saeed, Deira (04 299 0884). Read the full Dampa Seafood Grill review Dhaba Lane Credit: Dhaba Lane A budget, Indian street food-style eatery in JLT, Dhaba Lane has been delighting savvy diners with its moreish curries since 2017. Serving traditional dishes from Punjab to Delhi, Calcutta and beyond, there are plenty of regional flavours to try here. A full non-vegetable Thali will only set you back Dhs45, and an Old Dehli butter chicken curry is only Dhs40. Add on a garlic naan for Dhs8 and you're laughing. Open daily noon-11.30pm. Indigo Tower, Cluster D, JLT, (054 999 4251). Mama'esh Affordable eats in Dubai don't come much better than what you get at Mama'esh. The homemade concept delivers traditional Palestinian manakish flatbreads made from only organic flour using a wood-fired stone oven, there are a number of branches throughout the city, but our favourite has to be the one down in Al Manara thanks to its perfect blend of cute and cool interiors plus indoor and outdoor seating. With prices averaging between Dhs9 to Dhs18 per manakish or Dhs15 to Dhs29 for fatayer, you could fill up here every day of the week. Open Sat-Thu 7am-5pm, Fri 7am-1.15pm, 1.45pm-5pm. Al Manara, Wasl Road (600 548287). Read the full Mama'esh review here San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles Sometimes restaurants just hit different. San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles, which opened in JLT at the start of 2023, is one of those places. And it's almost entirely down to the food. San Wan isn't one of those extravagant, cavernous places with jaw-dropping city views or wildly photogenic interiors. This is a small, corner unit in one of Dubai's most diverse, affordable neighbourhoods for food, and inside you'll find great value, authentic Shaanxi cuisine from the North China province. You can enjoy steaming bowls of hand-pulled noodles from Dhs41 and up to Dhs49, while appetisers start from Dhs15 and will run up to Dhs35. We absolutely love this banging budget spot. Open daily noon-10.30pm. Cluster F, JLT @ (050 759 9584). The Little Bali Reasonably-priced food is hard to come by, so The Little Bali deserves all the praise it gets. A favourite of celebrity chef Reif Othman, it's a perfect pre-pay day spot that won't have you compromising on quality, whether you opt for a blow-the-roof-off-your-mouth beef rendang or a more subtle green curry. The mee goreng aceh is delicious and priced at just Dhs40, while the ikan goreng at Dhs45 is a perfect seafood option. Open daily noon-10pm. Cluster U, JLT, (04 554 8575).
