Restaurant Road Trip: Bacon, Bourbon & Beer
MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — It says it all right in the name — if you're looking for a juicy burger to sink your teeth into or a local beer to enjoy, Bacon, Bourbon & Beer, in Morgantown deserves your attention.
Located in the Suncrest Town Centre, this gastropub offers a robust selection of shareable items, sandwiches, salads and burgers. Its signature item is a one-pound bacon flight with Cajun & Bleu, Candied Jalapeno & Cheddar, Bourbon & Brown Sugar and Sarris Chocolate Drizzle bacon.
Restaurant owner Shawn Janovich said he has a soft (or crispy) spot for bacon and used to eat it just about every week.
'I love bacon. It was part of a house I lived in outside of D.C. where we all cooked about a pound of bacon every Saturday morning and just sat around and ate bacon for a long period of time,' Janovich said.

Following his love of bacon, Janovich said he was intrigued by beer during the pre-2020 craft beer boom and wanted to incorporate that into his business. Bourbon, which starts with the letter B and also happens to be a craft beverage, naturally became the third pillar he wanted to build off of. But there's actually a secret fourth B that Bacon, Bourbon & Beer has come to be known for.
'We're most known for our burgers,' Janovich told 12 News. 'We sell more burgers than anything through both locations.'
Reporter Sam Gorski got to try the B3 smash burger, and it's easy to see why it's one of the restaurant's most popular items. It tastes exactly how it looks: juicy, flavorful and loaded with thick-cut bacon and tender onions, with a B3 burger sauce to tie it all together. If you like a good burger, you'll like this one too.
If you're looking for a drink to pair with your order, you won't be short on choices either, with more than 100 varieties of bourbon and 20 different craft and domestic beers on tap to choose from.
