She's settling into her new home, and visitors to the center will get the chance to meet her starting on March 15. Tyrone school newspaper adds latest award to its collection She arrived on March 5 after being carefully transported from the aquarium. She has spent the last couple of days acclimating, exploring, and enjoying her new home. Peal will be at the center for the next 1-2 years as part of an exhibit that will allow visitors the chance to learn about marine conservation. 'It's a great opportunity for us to continue our STEM program and to teach kids and their families about the environment and about ecology because unfortunately, not everyone has had an opportunity to go to the beach and be able to see some of these amazing creatures,' Marianne Hazel, Directory of Development at the Discovery Space Center said. The Marine Life Center will reopen to the public on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., marking her official public debut. Over the next few years, Pearl will grow to be anywhere from 10-12 inches wide and up to 22 inches long. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
