England's Callum Farr wins Clutch Pro Tour's Al Ain Championship
Callum Farr (Eng) shot rounds of 67, 67 and 64, for a 12 under par total of 198, to win the Clutch Pro Tour's Al Ain Championship held at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, Abu Dhabi. The 54-hole tournament locally sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF), saw an oversubscribed field of 154 players competing – both males and females with plenty of UAE players competing alongside the best of the Clutch Tour – their first tournament of the 2025 season. Farr, representing Trinifold Sports, started the final round in the fifth from last group. He played the first nine of his last round in 32 shots with three birdies. Further birdies on holes 11, 15 and 16 saw him home in another 32 for a 64 and a 12 under par week and a one-shot victory from both Haider Hussain (The Kendleshire) and Jack Cope (Eng). On the local scene the leading score came from Sana Tufail (Am, Yas Links Abu Dhabi) who took the Ladies Divisional Award in tied 36th on three under par and Thomas Buchard (Am, The Els Club) was the leading local male UAE player on two under par in tied 42nd. Shane Peacock, Director of Golf, Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, said after the final round, 'We have a tremendous three days of golf at the highest standard. To have three players break 200 over three days is excellent golf anywhere. It is rewarding to see some home-grown UAE talent holding their own against the champions of the future. 'Congratulations to all the winners and high performers for their scores etc. All the players must be very proud of their results. We will certainly be watching all the players who competed this week in Al Ain – many of them will probably go to the highest levels of world golf – perhaps even sooner than we think to the most elite Tours in the game, around the world.' Farr immediately goes to the top of the Clutch Pro Tour Rankings with 440 points, with Hussain and Cope tied for second with 247.50 points. The tournament boasted a prize fund of £50,000 (approx AED 237,988.95) Farr won a first prize cheque of £8,000 (approx AED 30,000), and an invite to return to Al Ain next month to play in the HotelPlanner Tour event (formerly named the Challenge Tour). The next event of the Clutch Pro Tour starts on 25th March at La Vie in Oman, followed by another tournament in the Sultanate, the following week at Al Mouj Golf. Final Results (Par 70). C.
