Deliveroo names 'best restaurants in Scotland' with annual awards
A pizza parlour in the Granite City was named 'Independent Restaurant of the Year', while Glasgow's Smoky Trotters was named the 'best burger and American cuisine' for 2025.
The annual awards are voted for by Deliveroo customers and judged by a panel including top chefs.
This year saw a total of 65 awards were up for grabs across the UK, with 11 categories in Scotland.
Big Mannys' Pizza in Aberdeen was awarded the top prize for 'Best Independent Restaurant', while other awards included Best Nepalese and Indian, best Fish and Chips and Best Pizza.
Salt and Sole's fare won best fish and chips (Image: Deliveroo) However, despite dating the top award, the Big Manny's was pipped in the pizza category by Civerinos of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Smokey Trotters, Glasgow - Best Burgers & American - Scotland Formerly a street food favourite around Glasgow, Smokey Trotters now has a permanent home in the East End. Siam Cottage, Aberdeen - Best Thai - Scotland Chefs Chacharin (Neng) and TP (Nuch) have used their extensive experience in both Thai and Chinese cuisine to delight diners. Buck's Bar, Edinburgh - Best Chicken - Scotland For the second year in a row, Buck's Bar is awarded Best Chicken in Scotland on Deliveroo. Maki and Ramen, Edinburgh - Best Japanese - Scotland Maki and Ramen scoop the Deliveroo award for Best Japanese in Scotland for the second year running. Cafe 100, Aberdeen - Best Breakfast & Coffee - Scotland Cafe 100 is awarded Best Breakfast & Coffee on Deliveroo in Scotland for the second year running.
More than 160,000 votes were cast by Deliveroo customers during three weeks to crown 50 regional cuisine-led winner.
Votes were cast across five regions in the UK and Ireland - London, South England & Wales, North England & East Midlands, Scotland and Ireland- by food-lovers keen to show their support for their favourite local restaurants.
Civerino's Pizzas (Image: Deliveroo) Deliveroo's overall Independent Restaurant of the Year 2025 was won by CRUNCH from London, after the five regional finalists, including Big Mannys' Pizza from Scotland, battled it out at a cook-off held at Deliveroo Editions in London.
It was judged by Deliveroo's CEO and founder, Will Shu; returning judge, food critic and journalist Jimi Famurewa; and the awards' youngest ever judge, TV Chef and personality, Tilly Ramsay.
Competing finalists had 45 minutes to cook their most popular Deliveroo main dish.
Each restaurant was assessed against criteria including brand personality, food quality and value, packaging and presentation, customer reviews and loyalty, innovation, and 'going the extra mile'.

Jimi Famurewa, food critic and Deliveroo restaurant awards judge, said: 'It's an honour to be a returning judge for Deliveroo's UK & Ireland restaurant awards, and I was blown away by the passion and talent on display at the Independent Restaurant of the Year cook-off.
'Each finalist brought something unique and delicious to the table, making the final decision incredibly tough for us. However, CRUNCH from London stood out amongst the fierce competition, showcasing immense creativity, fine dining-level technique and mindblowing flavour that impressed us all."
