‘A hard business' South Knoxville restaurant to close after 8 years
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Landing House, a restaurant on Sevier Avenue, is scheduled to close its doors on June 8 after eight years, according to a post from one of the owners.
The restaurant sells Chinese- and Cambodian-inspired food. The post explained that the owners thought it was better to leave on their own terms rather than being forced out.

'Ten years ago, my wife Hao and I saw a 'For Sale' sign on a neat, creepy old house in the neighborhood we lived in. Sevier Avenue was a desolate place that was honestly… a little sketchy,' wrote Zach Land on Facebook.
He continued, 'We thought it would be great for people to have a place to grab some food to go along with their local craft beers, and we plowed headfirst into the insanely scary and hectic world of restaurant ownership. Now, that shabby little neighborhood we once knew is completely unrecognizable. Much has changed, and with that change brings new problems to confront.'

He said that restaurant ownership is 'a hard business,' but one that has let him meet some lovely people. His post highlighted their 'solid and dedicated crew' as well as their customers. The business grew every year that it was open, the owner said.
