Body found in search for Briton who went missing during stag do in Portugal
A body has been found in the search for a missing Scottish man who disappeared while on a stag do in Portugal. Greg Monks, 38, was last seen in Albufeira during the early hours of Wednesday, 28 May, while enjoying the first night of a five-day stay. A major search was launched for the Cambuslang man, with his parents and girlfriend flying out to Portugal to also provide assistance. His sisters, Jillian and Carlyn, previously spoke to Sky News about the family's devastation at his disappearance. Speaking to The UK Tonight with Sarah-Jane Mee before the police's announcement, they described their brother as a "big part of our family". 9:36 Local police confirmed on Wednesday that a body had been found in the Cerro de Aguia area, where Mr Monks was believed to have been last seen. A statement by Portuguese police said the body was located on a vacant and uneven lot. The force added: "After the competent judicial inspection has been carried out, the body will be removed to the area's legal medicine office for an autopsy to be performed." Mr Monks was earlier described by his sisters as a "real family man". When his family arrived in Albufeira, police told them they had spotted Mr Monks twice on CCTV footage walking around the residential area. The area where he was last seen - more than an hour's walk from the Albufeira Strip - had a lot of rough terrain, including rocky outcrops and cliffs. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said it was supporting Mr Monks' family and was "in contact with the local authorities".

Glasgow team complete Edinburgh Marathon for 'important' cause
Eight charity workers successfully completed the Edinburgh Marathon. Staff members from the Glasgow-based Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) braved the harsh weather to take on different 'legs' of the 26.2-mile course. Advertisement The colleagues tackled the Royal leg, the Cock and Pan Leg, the Gosford Leg and the Glory Leg, which are 8.3 miles, 5.5 miles, 8 miles and 4.4 miles respectively. Read more: Former Glasgow football ground could become nationally important site Jennifer Adams, 53, from Cambuslang, ran the 4.4-mile 'Glory' leg, and her team finished the race in four hours and 13 minutes. The other SCIAF team completed the race in three hours and 54 minutes. Jennifer said: "I loved doing the Glory Run – I got the cheers from all the supporters on the streets for doing the least amount of miles! "It was an amazing day for all our colleagues – great atmosphere and camaraderie among us all, despite me getting absolutely pelted with hail and wind and rain two minutes into my run. Jennifer Adams (Image: Supplied) One of the charity's main reasons for running the marathon was to contribute to the "Relay of Hope," a global movement designed to draw attention to the worldwide debt crisis. SCIAF are participating in the cause to call for the cancellation of crippling debts that trap countries in cycles of poverty. The team have create an online fundraising page to raise donations for the cause which is available here: SCIAF has spent nearly six decades helping people in the world's poorest places to escape poverty, protect their living conditions and aid disaster recovery. "Until countries can break free from the shackles of unjust global debt, they won't be able to fully break out of the cycles of poverty they're trapped in. "I really hope us running the marathon will encourage others to sign our petition and call on politicians to put people ahead of profit."

Aberdeen are Celtic treble-busters as Kevin Nisbet helps Dons to first Scottish Cup win since 1990
The Cambuslang star, on loan from Millwall, was part of the Dons side as they stunned Celtic Cambuslang star Kevin Nisbet helped Aberdeen lift the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990 with a penalty shootout win over Celtic. The Dons destroyed Celtic's treble hopes at Hampden, winning 4-3 in the shootout after a lacklustre 90 minutes saw both sides concede from own goals. Alfie Dorrington knocked the ball into his own net late in the first-half and after the break Hoops goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel produced a howler in the 83rd minute when he turned a cross into the Celtic goal to send the clash to extra-time. Neither side could be separated in the additional period, despite Dante Polvara firing just over for the Pittodrie men and Jeff Schlupp hitting the bar for Celtic, but the Dons delivered in the shootout. Dimitar Mitov was the hero as he saved from Celtic skipper Callum McGregor and Alistair Johnson from the spot, sparking wild scences in the red end of Hampden. Nisbet, who lost the 2021 Scottish Cup final to St Johnstone when he was at Hibs, started the game for the Dons but the 28-year-old Millwall loanee was substituted after 79 minutes for Dante Polvara. It is Celtic's first Scottish Cup final defeat since 2002 and Aberdeen's first win since 1990 when, ironically, they beat the Hoops on penalties. They won that one 9-8 in the shootout after a 0-0 draw. Shootout hero Mitov told the BBC: "I have no words. Everybody doubted that we could do it, but we knew with a good game plan, following instructions, working hard, we'd get a victory. "We were outstanding today. Sometimes, penalties go to luck. We rode our luck. We are cup champions, nobody cares how we did it. "He [Thelin] is the best manager I've ever worked with. On a day-to-day basis, how he manages us, how he trains us, the little details he puts in. He always said 'when we win the final'. There were no 'ifs'. "That mentality went to the boys, and we believed it. Everyone said 'when not if'. That was the turning point today."
