Flavour Report with Derek Goforth: Knot Just Pretzels offers quirky comfort food choice in Geraldton

If you're on the hunt for a spot that pays homage to good old-fashioned German baking — without skimping on quality or comfort — look no further than the newly opened Knot Just Pretzels Bakehouse on Durlacher Street. I was lucky enough to stop by just before their grand opening on Sunday. This place is a carb-lover's dream come true. I had the privilege of trying a range of things. The Sweet Cinnamon pretzel was a hug in pastry form — pillowy soft with a sweet cinnamon dusting that had me reminiscing about family bake days. It's sweet enough to satisfy but not so sugary that you can't justify ordering another. The blueberry bagel was delightfully chewy and full of fruity flavour, perfect for slathering with the generous dollops of butter or cream cheese that come on the side. At between $8-$10 the bagels and pretzels are more than decent value for money, especially when they are straight out of the oven. The Damper of the Day was a comforting nod to the classics, offering a rustic loaf and muffin that were perfect alongside a coffee (or two). The Pretzelwurst was a sausage delight wrapped in that signature pretzel dough. Salty, savory, and just the right amount of chewiness, it was the perfect snack to accompany a cold drink. At just $5 I felt this was a real bargain, again it was fresh and warm and went so well with my drink. For a meal that's built to share — or to indulge on your own — the Brot Box at $25 was unbeatable, featuring a selection of bread, bagel, focaccia, plus butter, cream cheese, and a variety of sauces and sides, all beautifully presented and ready to pair with a soft drink or non-alcoholic beer (yes they sell zero-alcohol beer too!) It's the kind of platter that turns a simple lunch into a laid-back feast. And finally the Loaded Potato was a comfort food revelation, with creamy mashed potato, toppings galore, and enough heartiness to fill even the emptiest of of our family's stomachs. Logistically, parking is simple with the IGA carpark just a few metres away, so you can shop and grab your takeaway without any fuss. Brie-Anne and Cameron Williams who run the place are friendly and make the experience really worthwhile, no request was too complex for them and they really value honest feedback. There's plenty of seating, and the ambience is spot on. I would 100 per cent recommend a visit. The place is quirky and out of the ordinary — just what Geraldton needs.

Cameron Williams signs rookie contract with Philadelphia Eagles

Cameron Williams signs rookie contract with Philadelphia Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles continued solidifying their 2025 rookie class Tuesday, signing sixth-round offensive tackle Cameron Williams to a four-year contract. The Philadelphia Eagles have signed rookie offensive tackle Cameron Williams to a four-year contract, the team announced Tuesday, as they continue to finalize their 2025 draft class. Williams, selected with the 207th overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, was a standout at Texas, where he started 16 games and helped anchor an offensive line that was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, given to the nation's top unit. Williams, 21, measures 6-foot-6 and 317 pounds, bringing notable size and reach to the Eagles' offensive line group. During his college career, he played in 37 games and earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors in Texas' first season in the conference. He allowed only two sacks in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus, but was flagged 16 times, making him the second-most penalized offensive lineman in the FBS that season. The Eagles are expected to develop Williams under veteran offensive line coach and run game coordinator Jeff Stoutland, who has a reputation for molding young linemen into reliable starters. Williams will likely enter training camp as the fourth tackle on the depth chart, behind Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata and Fred Johnson. Williams' contract is valued at $4.1 million, with $320,000 guaranteed. He joins a Philadelphia draft class focused on bolstering both sides of the line of scrimmage, with only Jihaad Campbell and Drew Mukuba remaining unsigned as of Tuesday. 'I'm here to learn from the best. However long that takes, I'll be ready,' Williams said after signing. While Williams' physical tools and experience at a high level are clear, the Eagles will look to reduce his penalty rate and refine his technique as he transitions to the NFL.

Eagles sign offensive tackle Cameron Williams to 4-year rookie deal

Eagles sign offensive tackle Cameron Williams to 4-year rookie deal Only Jihaad Campbell and Drew Mukaba remain unsigned after Philadelphia inks sixth round pick Cameron Williams to his four year rookie deal The Eagles selected an impressive ten-player class in April, and only two players remain unsigned after the team inked former Texas offensive tackle Cameron Williams to his standard four-year rookie deal on Tuesday. Philadelphia drafted two offensive tackles and a center after adding four defensive players in the early rounds. The 6-foot-5, 335-pound Williams, a true junior, projects as an NFL tackle. He started 16 games for the Longhorns and played in 37 games, serving as an anchor of an offensive line that was a Joe Moore Award finalist in 2024. Williams was projected as the 28th best player available in the NFL draft, per initial ESPN rankings, and was slotted at No. 28 in the early mock draft by ESPN's Field Yates. ESPN's Matt Miller ranked Williams as his No. 3 overall tackle in the draft, while ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. ranked him 7th at the position. Here is what Lance Zierlein said about the Duncanville, Texas native. Williams' blend of desirable physical traits but subpar bend and foot quickness make him a tougher pro projection. The technique will likely need a full year of work to help mitigate the aforementioned deficiencies and allow his traits to speak more loudly. He has the potential to impose his size on lesser opponents, but more skilled combatants will have the upper hand. Williams is more mauler than a mover in the run game, while his protection consistency should improve with more work. Experience should bring out his upside, but his ceiling could be an average starting right tackle.

5 reasons the Philadelphia Eagles should be excited about Cameron Williams

5 reasons the Philadelphia Eagles should be excited about Cameron Williams Cameron Williams heads to Philadelphia after the sixth round No. 207 overall pick. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Texas offensive tackle Cameron Williams with the No. 207 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, adding a massive and promising lineman to their roster. Williams, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 317 pounds, started 16 games over three seasons with the Longhorns and was a 2024 Joe Moore Award finalist. Known for his imposing frame, long arms, and powerful grip, Williams excelled as a run blocker, helping Texas average over five yards per carry when running behind him. He allowed just two sacks in 2024, both against Georgia, and played nearly 1,000 snaps in his final season. Elite Physical Traits and Size Cameron Williams brings prototype NFL tackle dimensions to Philadelphia, standing 6-foot-6, weighing 317 pounds, with 34 1/2-inch arms and massive 11 3/8-inch hands. His frame and length make him a natural fit at right tackle, where he played exclusively at Texas. Run Game Asset with Power and Mobility Williams excelled as a run blocker in Texas's multiple-run scheme, using his girth, length, and grip strength to wall off defenders and create running lanes. He was a key reason Texas running backs averaged over five yards per carry running behind him, and he shows surprising mobility for his size when pulling or climbing to the second level. Raw, Developmental Prospect with Limited Experience Despite his upside, Williams is considered a "traits" prospect who needs significant development. He started just 16 games in college, all at right tackle, and is still refining his technique and consistency. His limited experience means he'll likely require time and coaching before becoming a reliable NFL starter. Room for growth, with the right coaching. Williams was the second-most penalized offensive lineman in FBS in 2024, drawing 16 flags. He struggles with hand placement, sometimes plays too high, and can be vulnerable to speed rushers due to footwork and balance issues. Improving these areas will be crucial for his transition to the NFL, but Williams has remained coachable throughout his college career. Coachable Talent Analysts believe Williams landed in an ideal spot with the Eagles, who have a strong track record of developing offensive linemen under coach Jeff Stoutland. If placed in a quick-game, play-action-heavy offense that plays to his strengths, Williams has legitimate starting potential and could eventually develop into a long-term solution at right tackle.
