João Cancelo reveals personalised gift from Barcelona
Former Barcelona star João Cancelo has this weekend unveiled a video, showcasing a gift sent his way by the Blaugrana brass. Defender Cancelo of course spent the 2023/24 campaign plying his trade in Catalunya's capital. Advertisement Under the watch of then-manager Xavi, the Portuguese played a leading role, racking up four goals and five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. In the end, as much did not prove quite enough to convince Deco and co. to make his signing a permanent one, with Manchester City having been demanding a premium fee for their versatile full-back. As alluded to above, though, relations between club and player evidently nevertheless remain in a good place. Taking to his official Instagram account this weekend, Cancelo unveiled a video of the unboxing of a personal gift sent his way by Barcelona. A pair of former members of the first-team setup at La Liga giants Barcelona have provided their responses to the club's latest title triumph. Barcelona are of course fresh off an evening to remember on Thursday. After making the trip across Catalunya for a meeting with neighbours Espanyol, Hansi Flick's troops emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result. This proved enough to secure for the Blaugrana champion status in Spain for 2024/25. Messages of congratulations, in turn, have since come flooding in from across the world of football. And as alluded to above, adding their respective names to this list of well-wishers on Friday were ex-Barca pair João Cancelo & İlkay Gündoğan.
