Structure burns after late night fire in Canisteo
CANISTEO, N.Y. (WETM) — A home was destroyed in Canisteo after a fire dispatched numerous departments to the location near the town, according to the Canisteo Fire Company.
Around 8:49 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, engines from five departments were sent or kept on standby for a fire at a home on counts Road 119 in Canisteo.

Large flames and heavy smoke had consumed the structure by the time fire crews arrived to combat the flames. Crews worked for hours to tackle the fire, with crews returning to service around 2 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and no injuries have been reported at the writing of this article, according to the Canisteo Police Department.
