The bodies of the man and the woman were discovered in a granny flat when police were called to a property on Cannons Parade at Forestville about 9:30pm on Wednesday. Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were conducting a welfare check after neighbours raised concerns. The bodies are yet to be formally identified but they are believed to be that of a man aged in his 40s and a woman aged in her 50s. Police have since established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances of the pair's deaths with the assistance of the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad. Police sources have told the ABC they are investigating whether the deaths are a domestic violence-related murder-suicide. It is understood the man was known to police in another state and that the bodies had been there for some time.
