West Nile Virus found in Stark County community
CANTON (WJW) — A mosquito sample collected in Canton tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to Canton City Public Health.
The sample that tested positive originated in the 2200 block of Sandwith Avenue S.W. The samples were taken as part of the city's mosquito abatement program.

West Nile Virus is the leading cause of mosquito-borne disease in the continental U.S.
It is spread to humans from the bite of an infected mosquito. Symptoms include fever, headache, body aches, vomiting, diarrhea or rash.
I-TEAM: Fire station testing complete after mold concern
The first round of mosquito spraying in Canton will take place June 9 and will be completed on June 18. Additional mosquito spraying will take place over the summer months.
