Thomas and Southworth sign new Cardiff deals
Flanker Dan Thomas and prop Danny Southworth have signed new deals to stay at 31, moved to the Arms Park from Bristol Bears last Southworth, who turns 26 on Sunday, 4 May, has signed a "long-term" deal to remain in the Welsh capital following his move from Exeter Chiefs last summer. "I was welcomed into the group from day one and I'm loving living in Cardiff, it's a brilliant city. The Arms Park is also special," said Southworth, who believes they "can achieve something special together".Open-side Thomas, who has made 11 appearances since his arrival, said: "I've enjoyed the challenge at the club, not only in terms of the URC [United Rugby Championship], and the variety of teams, styles and travel, but around squad selection and the quality we have."I feel I have been given the freedom to show what I can bring to this team and that is thanks to the players and coaches accepting me from the off."Cardiff have not specified the duration of the contracts signed by Thomas and club was taken over by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) in April when it went into administration.
