Confirmed: Toyota Will Make the GR Corolla In the UK
The rumors were true: Toyota will begin producing the GR Corolla in the United Kingdom starting in 2026. Preparations at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) plant actually began last year and will culminate with the start of production sometime next year. The Burnaston factory in Derbyshire will become the company's first plant outside Japan to assemble a full-fat Gazoo Racing product. It makes sense to build the car in the UK, considering Toyota already produces the regular hatchback and the not-for-America Corolla Touring Sports wagon at the same site. Since its launch in 2022, the GR Corolla has been exclusively built in Japan at the Motomachi Plant. Whether relocating some of the production to the UK indicates plans to sell the car in Europe remains unclear. For now, the three-cylinder compact car remains a forbidden fruit on the Old Continent. Photo by: Toyota Toyota has announced that it will reveal details about where the UK-built GR Corolla will be sold at a later date. The company will also share information on annual production volumes and reveal how much it's investing to prepare the factory for the flagship model's arrival. TMUK has been making cars since 1992, when the first Carina rolled off the assembly line. The Avensis sedan and Auris hatch were also made there. Toyota cites growing demand for the GR Corolla as the reason behind its decision to expand manufacturing. It also aims to 'deliver vehicles to customers as swiftly as possible,' and according to Reuters , the UK-made cars will be shipped to the United States. The world's largest automaker for the fifth consecutive year is reportedly spending up to $56 million to make it happen. Once production ramps up, as many as 10,000 vehicles are expected to be shipped to North America annually. It's worth noting that the Trump administration imposed a 25% tariff on vehicles assembled in Japan, while tariffs on UK-made cars have been reduced from 27.5% to 10% for up to 100,000 vehicles per year. Shifting production of US-bound GR Corollas to the UK would ease some of the tax burden, though it's unlikely current pricing will remain unchanged for long. Now might be the best time to buy one, unless you're holding out for the hardcore version Toyota recently teased. It'll have more torque than the standard car's 295 lb-ft (400 Nm), although it's unclear whether it will carry the GRMN badge or be a different kind of special edition. Expect a two-seat layout similar to the Morizo Edition. Married At First Sight Australia bride Carina Mirabile has revealed the full story behind the shocking moment that led to her then-hubby Paul Antoine punching a wall. About halfway through the experiment, things went left for the former power couple, as Paul revealed at a dinner party that he'd lost his temper and punched a wall after Carina admitted to sleeping with a rapper. The moment came as a shock to the other MAFSAU cast members and viewers alike, as the duo seemed super loved up and on the way to building a successful marriage. It turns out... a lot was actually left out of that moment. Here's everything that happened leading up to the moment that Paul punched the wall on MAFSAU. Carina and Paul told the other cast members that Paul had punched the wall because Carina revealed that she'd slept with a well-known rapper. However, the rapper's name wasn't disclosed on the show. Speaking about the incident on her new podcast with celebrity hairstylist Jacob Mueller, This Is Chaos, Carina claimed that the rapper she was intimate with is US star Quavo - who is best known as the frontman of the now-defunct hip-hop group, Migos. While we know that the incident took place after a double date with Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels, during which Carina revealed that she'd been intimate with a rapper, we didn't hear the exact details on MAFS. Carina has now opened up about the incident, saying: "We were taking turns putting on a song [in an Uber]. I put on a song and it was one with Quavo in it. I said, 'I slept with him' as it was funny and stupid, we all laughed about it. Paul laughed as well." She continued: "Then when we get back to the apartment and Paul was so furious. He was frustrated, I could see he was upset. He was pacing, he had to go the balcony, I was thinking, 'Okay this isn't normal, something is up.'" Carina thought that her comment would be unimportant given a previous confession from Paul. According to Carina, Paul revealed that he was into swinging in his previous relationship. Despite her initial reservations, Carina says she put it behind her, so she expected the same grace when it came to her revelation. She said: "When Paul and I were doing Confessions Week at the start of the experiment, he openly said that he was into swinging with his ex-partner. "I was like, 'Are you for real? Does your family know about this?' Then he told me all about his past dating life and I just let it go." She continued: "He was just so upset and dramatic about the whole Quavo situation. I kept apologising, he kept saying he was embarrassed that I openly said that. I kept saying sorry, sorry, sorry. I didn't feel unsafe, it was just us having a fight. "I said, 'But you openly said, on camera, for a national television show, that you had slept with swingers and did swinging with your ex so I didn't think [me sharing that story] that was a bad thing.'" Before Paul punched the wall, Carina says a producer who had overheard their argument, tried to diffuse the situation, asking Paul to go for a walk to cool down. However, this didn't help and when Paul returned from his walk he was still angry. "He was angry, pacing and breathing heavily. I just said, 'Let's go to bed, let's go to bed.' So we're laying in bed, I could hear him panting and I asked, 'what's going on? Are you okay?' He got up and said 'No, I'm not okay.' "He got up and bang, bang. I was like, 'Holy s**t this has now gotten so much serious.' I was freaking out, thinking how did it get from that comment to this situation?' All the clues MAFSAU's Carina and Billy are dating, as couple say they "should have been matched"
For those of you who have been keeping up with Married At First Sight Australia this season, you'll know there's been ups, downs, and plenty of drama. And while not everyone made it down the aisle in the original couplings, it doesn't mean that sparks haven't been flying elsewhere. Yep, we're talking about Billy Belcher and Carina Mirabile, who have recently given fans major reason to believe they could be an item. But let's backtrack a bit: During the social experiment, Billy was paired with Sierah. Their relationship didn't end up working out, causing them to leave the social experiment during a commitment ceremony. As for Carina and Paul, they made it to the altar. But again, it wasn't to be. (Paul punched a wall in the couple's apartment and dated another girl, which led to Carina dumping him right before their 'I do's.') Now, Billy has taken to TikTok to share a video of himself and Carina basically soft-launching some kind of relationship. The footage shows the MAFSAU alumni posing for a photo before turning to look at each other and tightly hugging. During the embrace, Billy and Carina are seen laughing, smiling, and looking genuinely happy and comfortable in one another's company. But perhaps the biggest teaser of all? Billy captioned the video: "Should we [have] been matched? I mean I wouldn't [have] punched a hole in the wall or gone on a date with another girl." That's some shade right there. Of course, the video sent MAFS fans wild, with many giving their seal of approval to the potential coupling. "Carina is solid enough to bring out your nurturing side IMO," one person said, while another typed: "The way she looked at you." "I am here for this!" a third added, as a fourth echoed: "You look great together." Cute TikTok video aside, eagle-eyed sleuths will remember that Billy had previously given hints that he was into Carina. In an interview with Yahoo, Carina claimed that Billy asked her to pretend to be his girlfriend at the reunion. At the time, she turned him down, stating they were just friends and that she didn't want to "stir any pot." Other clues that the two may be transitioning from friends to more than friends? Five days ago, Carina posted a series of glam selfies to her grid on the way to Australian Fashion Week. While she received plenty of attention from fans thanks to her oversized fur coat and Kim K-esque slicked back hairstyle, Billy was one of the first to comment on the carousel with "Queen energy." And, as if by magic, he also commented "Kim K" on a series of snaps from May 15, referencing Carina's obvious likeness to the reality star. Finally, Billy shared three snaps of himself with his mum to celebrate Mother's Day earlier this month. While Carina replied: "Love this," Billy responded to her message with: "thanks queen." We don't know about you, but there's definitely plenty of flirtatious energy going on here.

MAFS Australia expert delivers hard truth to groom in reunion: "I felt sick in the stomach"
Married at First Sight expert John Aiken slammed the actions of Paul Antoine across the series, saying the groom made him "sick in the stomach". Tonight's episode of the reality show, the final instalment in the 12th season, saw the various cast members congregate for the reunion party, with each party in the experiment updating the experts on their journeys. Paul was partnered with Carina Mirabile during the experiment, with Carina opting to split up during the final vows ceremony following a controversial relationship in which she said Paul had "thrown [her] under the bus" several times. As the pair discussed their relationship with the experts, Paul was told off by Alessandra Rampolla as she said it would be "appreciated" if he didn't interrupt her, with the couple's film shortly being shown after. After Carina noted that the clip "reaffirmed" her decision to separate, Paul was asked about his own feelings, sharing: "I know I've made a few mistakes along the way but Carina has - though not as much as I have - said and done certain things that have made me feel uncomfortable." Related: John promptly interrupted the groom, saying: "Paul, I've had enough. I'm going to tell you the way it is. You have to stop playing the victim. And look at me when I'm talking to you, because I won't have another chance to say this to you straight." "You need to change.
