Carl Jammes Martin wins US debut
Super bantamweight prospect Carl Jammes Martin made a successful US debut following a unanimous decision nod over Francisco Portillo on Sunday (Philippine time) at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
Martin, 26, was composed throughout the fight, utilizing his jab and footwork to keep his come-forward opponent at bay.
In round 6, Martin landed a big left hand that sent Portillo crashing to the canvas. The Mexican managed to beat the count and make it to the final bell.
All three judges saw the fight for Martin after eight rounds of action, improving his unbeaten record to 26-0 with 20 knockouts. The scorecards were 79-72, 78-73, and 78-73.
