Darnall's new furry team mate will 'heal and connect'
Fort Cavazos, Tx (FOX44) – Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center Friday welcomed its newest and furriest team mate whose job it will be to bring comfort, wellness and joy.
Solomon is a two-year-old black Labrador Retriever who will be serving as the center's official 'facility dog.'
Recognized for his calm demeanor, emotional intelligence and strong people skills, Solomon was selected for his unique role.
'Facility dogs like Solomon bring more than smiles. They provide therapeutic benefits that can reduce stress, boost morale, and improve overall mental health,' said Col. Garrick Cramer, CRDAMC Commander. 'We are honored to have Solomon as part of our team.'
Solomon completed and excelled all of the training requirements at America's VetDogs program. He is trained in 36 commands and plays a vital role in CRDAMC`s wellness initiatives, fostering a culture of compassion, connection and emotional support for staff, patients and families alike.
