Inditex restructures leadership with three new appointments
Spanish fashion group Inditex, chaired by Marta Ortega, is reorganizing its executive leadership. Following the departure of key figures including Jesús Echevarría, Carlos Crespo and Pablo del Bado, the company announced three new appointments on Friday in a filing with the Spanish securities regulator CNMV. The group has appointed Fernando de Bunes Ibarra, previously head of risk management, as its new sustainability director. He replaces Javier Losada, one of the company's long-standing leaders. Losada joined Inditex in 1993 and has served as sustainability director since 2019. He was named to the executive committee in 2022 following the departure of then-chief operating and digital transformation officer Carlos Crespo. Losada will leave the company after a transitional period. Inditex reinforced its financial leadership by appointing Ignacio Fernández Fernández as corporate general manager, overseeing finance, sustainability, logistics, transportation, and infrastructure. The group also named Andrés Sánchez Iglesias as chief financial officer, with both executives set to join the company's executive committee. Fernández previously served as general finance director, while Sánchez led the tax division. These changes form part of a broader restructuring strategy focused on generational renewal, led by current CEO Óscar García Maceiras. Earlier this year, Inditex also named Gorka García-Tapia Yturriaga as head of investor relations, succeeding Marcos López García. The Galician textile group currentlyand Massimo Dutti. According to its latest financial results, Inditex ended fiscal 2024 with a 7.5% increase in sales compared to the previous year, reaching revenue of €38.632 billion.
