Napoli make contact with PSG outcast Carlos Soler
Napoli have initiated contacts with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler ahead of a potential summer move (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio). After clinching the Serie A title, the Partenopei are looking to strengthen the squad on all fronts, shortlisting a handful of names in the transfer market. Advertisement Kevin De Bruyne is on the verge of completing a sensational move to Diego Maradona Stadium, but Antonio Conte's men are keen on adding another midfielder to their ranks. Soler has returned to Parc des Princes after spending the 2024/25 season on loan at West Ham United. Despite making 31 appearances, the Spaniard struggled to establish himself as a regular for the Hammers, who eventually opted against his permanent transfer, considering his hefty transfer fee and wages. PSG could be open to selling the 28-year-old, as he is no longer part of manager Luis Enrique's plans. His contract also runs out in 2027. Advertisement The former Valencia star can revive his flagging career under Napoli gaffer Antonio Conte, who is known for getting the best out of players. For instance, the Italian tactician took a struggling Scott McTominay under his wing and turned him into a world-class midfielder. The former Manchester United star was pivotal in Napoli's Serie A triumph last season, while also being named the league's MVP. Napoli tracking Bologna duo Conte is also eyeing a top-class winger to fill the void of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who moved to PSG in January, and has identified Bologna's Dan Ndoye as a top target. The Swiss attacker has been impressive for Rossoblu, who have been punching above their weight in the last couple of seasons. Advertisement He also scored the winning goal against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final that ended Bologna's 51-year trophy drought. Napoli have also earmarked Ndoye's Bologna teammate Sam Beukema as a potential target to strengthen their backline. The 26-year-old centre-back has earned praise for his stellar performances with the Italian underdogs and is also in line to receive his first Netherlands national team call-up soon.

Newcastle star thinks James Tarkowski is from Kazakhstan and Everton's Danish midfielder admits he 'doesn't know where Europe is' in hilarious geography challenge
A handful of Premier League stars showed off their pitiful geography skills in a challenge to locate the nation of various players on a world map. While the pressure of playing in front of thousands of fans every week would make most crumble, the likes of Carlos Soler, Jesper Lindstrom and Jacob Murphy looked far more uncomfortable at their global locations knowledge being put to the test. In a video shared on the Premier League's YouTube channel, 10 players competed to see who could accurately pin the most players to their country of origin. Incredibly, Murphy, did not realise that Everton defender James Tarkowski was English and put him over in Kazakhstan. And Everton's Danish international Lindstrom admitted: 'Before the session, I didn't even know where Europe was!' Plenty of the participants struggled to locate Japan to put Kaoru Mitoma on the map. And a number of the players also struggled to position Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana in Cameroon. Chris Richards had the advantage of putting himself on the board, helping himself move to joint-second in the overall standings. Raul Jimenez was one star who most were able to correctly pin on Mexico, although there were also a few rogue South American countries in the mix. Putting Arsenal centre-back William Saliba in France was also another easy one for the 10 players. Ipswich's Massimo Luongo of Australia produced some wild answers. Soler placed him in Thailand and Bernd Leno put him in Peru. In the end, it was Liverpool's Kostas Tsimikas who finished bottom of the pile alongside David Raya, while Leicester's Wilfried Ndidi came out on top with nine correct answers.
