Jersey cancer patient fundraises to support other patients
A patient has organised a fundraising event at Jersey General Hospital to help others going through cancer idea for the sale came to cancer patient Carole Anne Robins as she was sitting in her treatment family has a long history of fundraising for cancer charities in has been running a stall selling cakes and gifts to raise money for Jersey Cancer Relief and the Friends of Jersey Oncology (FOJO).
Ms Robins, 66, who attends hospital in Jersey and the Royal Marsden in London, said patients needed support throughout their said: "You realise what the actual patients go through and as you sit in your chair in the oncology department you realise how much the nurses do."Every month about 30 newly diagnose patients begin their treatment at Jersey's oncology and haematology unit, according to sale included cakes, unwanted Christmas gifts and items donated by local businesses to raffle to hospital visitors.
