Salvation Army in Penrith appeals for more volunteers due to increasing demand
THE Salvation Army in Penrith is appealing for volunteers.
The church and community centre, located on Hunter Lane, already has a team of 23.
Due to increasing demand, they are looking for more people to help deliver their weekly community programme.
The role will include supporting coffee mornings, the lunch club and food bank.
Major Carole Donaldson, church leader of The Salvation Army in Penrith said: 'Our volunteers are simply amazing and play a big part in the work that we do for our local community. Without them giving up their time to support our work we couldn't provide the services that we do, and we want to give a huge thanks to everyone who volunteers for us bringing love and energy and making a difference to those that need it.
'We believe that everyone has something that they can give, and we are keen for more volunteers to join our team with friendships made along the way, spare time filled with a purpose and an opportunity to build on skills, having a positive impact on our community. Anyone who has time to give, please get in touch as we are keen to hear from you.'
