United Way celebrates raising $4.5 million to help Space Coast

Brevard community members gathered Tuesday to celebrate raising more than $4.5 million through United Way's 2024 campaign, with L3 Harris and Publix Super Markets leading the way, and to recognize the nonprofit's new name, United Way Space Coast. 'Our community is changing, and so are we,' said United Way President Caron Partridge. 'United Way Space Coast is a name that reflects where we're going: energized, future-focused, and deeply connected to the communities we serve." Previously, the nonprofit had been known as United Way of Brevard. United Way supports dozens of partner agencies that work with children, the elderly, veterans, the homeless and more. L3Harris and Publix were honored for each raising more than $1 million. The Brevard Board of County Commissioners received the 2024 Chairman's Award, an honor that encompasses not only their annual campaign but also their activities in support of the community. Space Coast Credit Union raised $519,903, earning the Campaign Achievement Award. Also recognized were: Aeronix, Inc.; Community Credit Union of Florida; Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex; Lotane & Associates, P.A.; and Jacobs. The 2025 campaign will be led by Campaign Chair Mark Rendell, superintendent of Brevard Public Schools. Last year's campaign was led by Travis Proctor, CEO of Artemis IT.
