A woman has died from her injuries almost six weeks after she was struck by an object that fell from a semi and crashed through her windshield.
The Minnesota State Patrol has confirmed the death of Casandra Faulhaber, 36, of LeRoy, Minnesota, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Faulhaber was driving a Kia Sorento southbound on Highway 63 in Mower County on Friday, Apr. 25, when an object fell from a northbound semi-trailer and smashed through the windshield, striking her and causing severe head injuries.
The State Patrol says the semi driver was "not aware of the object and continued northbound on Highway 63," but was later located. The investigation into the incident continues.
An obituary for Faulhaber reveals she was a graduate of Grand Meadow High School and is survived by her husband Jerrod – who was a passenger in the vehicle and uninjured in the incident – and their four children.
A Mealtrain page has been set up to receive donations to support the Faulhaber family following their tragic loss, which you can find here.
Private family services for Faulhaber will be held on June 20 in LeRoy.
