Surrey man killed in hit and run in South Okanagan
A 22-year-old Surrey man is dead after a hit-and-run crash near Oliver on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened around 4 p.m., when Oliver RCMP were called about a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was walking southbound on the side of Hwy. 97 near Cassini Cellars Winery, approximately six kilometres south of Oliver.
Police and medical personnel attended the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene and police have asked the individual or individuals involved to contact them.
