Newtown sanctuary honored with two international awards
NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Catharine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary was honored with two Gold Stevie Awards in the 2025 American Business Awards.
The sanctuary won two awards the Non-Profit Organization of the year and Thought Leader of the Year presented to Presidient Jennifer Hubbard.
The Stevie Awards is a collection of global awards granted to recognize the 'achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide,' according to the organization's website.
State artists honored at Connecticut Arts Awards
The awards receive over 12,000 nominations annually.
'This award celebrates our innovative approach and real impact on animals, people, and theenvironment,' Hubbard said. 'It affirms the strength of our vision and the power ofcommunity support in bringing it to life.'
The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is named after a six-year-old victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Visitors to the 34-acre sanctuary can explore hiking and equestrian trails, a pollinator habitat and take part in events and educational programs.
