Celina Jaitly recalls losing her son Shamsher: 'Letting go is like the medicine'
Actress Celina Jaitly recalled the challenging time when she lost her father, mother, and son Shamsher all within a short period. Sharing a throwback click from her second pregnancy, Celina penned a note saying that soon after her father passed, they were told that one of her twins was suffering from a serious heart condition- hypoplastic heart. Looking back at the testing time, Celina penned on her Instagram handle, "#6yearsago #twinpregnancy | This photo was taken by my husband in our garden in Austria six years ago, during my second spontaneous twin pregnancy. Behind this smile was a heart in pieces.. my father had passed away just three weeks before, and we had just learned that one of the twins had a hypoplastic heart. We were on a brief pause at home in Austria, bracing ourselves before heading to London to find a cure. " Celina Jaitly pens emotional note on son Arthur's 2nd birthday, remembers deceased twin son Shamsher Shortly after bidding goodbye to their little bundle of joy Shamsher, the diva also lost her mother. "The happiest time of my life was overshadowed by profound grief, not knowing that we would soon lose baby Shamsher... and shortly after, my mother too", Celine added. However, the actress decided to keep a positive outlook. She wrote, "Yet, I remain grateful that God didn't leave our arms empty. He blessed us with baby Arthur the ray of hope who pulled us through the darkness." Terming pregnancy as one of the most challenging times in a woman's life, she went on to write, "Pregnancy can be the most tender, yet the most trying chapter of a woman's life. Not all outcomes are the same, so let's show love and support to every woman, daughter, friend, or stranger walking this path." Finally, Celina revealed that "Letting go is like the medicine we drink despite its bitter taste; in order to heal." Married to Austrian hotelier Peter Haag, Celina is the mother to three boys - Winston, Viraaj, and Arthur. Celina and Joseph Quinones fell head over heels in love, tying the knot within just four months of meeting and later welcoming three children. It was only after their family began to grow that Celina became curious about her heritage. On the Love Don't Judge podcast, she explained her reasons for delving into her DNA: "I started really diving into my DNA because I wanted to find out my heritage my daughter is really dark-skinned, and my son has curly hair my middle child is light-skinned, and everyone would ask 'what are you what are you?' I couldn't really give an answer except Native American." Confronted with this unexpected news, Celina recounted her initial turmoil to the Mirror, saying: "I was thinking, 'Should we get a divorce? Are we even supposed to be together?'. Despite feeling uneasy, Celina took to TikTok to share their story, hoping to inject some humour into the situation. However, she was unprepared for the intense scrutiny as the video quickly went viral, amassing millions of views. One individual pondered, "They look so much alike, how did they not know?" while another felt sorry for the siblings: "I feel bad for the kids, hopefully people don't bully them" and yet another said, "I'd be embarrassed if I were those kids." Talking about the family's discovery, their teenage son admitted, "I feel a little bit weird about it, because it's not something you want to brag about or put out to the world or anything." He elaborated, saying, "If they found out before they got married I think there'd be something obviously wrong with that but since they found out after there's there's not one single problem." At Celina and Joseph's nuptials, nobody from either side of the family recognised the other. The connection came to light later when they learnt that Joe's paternal grandmother had once adopted a child and poor documentation led to this familial tie being missed. "Colorado seems so big, but it's really not that big," Celina remarked. She mused, "Everyone knows everyone, and most likely, everyone is related." Despite the dramatic discovery, Celina and her husband Joseph decided to take action by setting up Before We Be, a bespoke dating network aimed at preventing individuals from unknowingly dating relatives.

Actor Celina Jaitly has penned a strong note on her X account highlighting ageism in the industry. The actor, 43, said how she was told that after the age of 39, a female actor 'begins to fade'. Celina clapped back at these comments and said that she is here to stay. I was told, 'You may look 27, but the digits matter.' Well, here's my response, watch those digits, because they will be great. Some of my Instagram reels have more views than their full-length films at the box office. With reels having reached to phenomenal- 30 Million views…' She went on to add, 'Dear Men and women remember you have NOT been sidelined by age; Personally speaking I've been sharpened by experience. Motherhood didn't pause my journey, it empowered it. Every challenge, every reinvention, has only made me stronger. I'm not done, I've only just begun. I'm evolving, I'm rising, and I'm here to stay. In her latest post on Instagram, the 'No Entry' actress took the opportunity to teach her kids about an important tradition from her Indian heritage, bridging the gap between their diverse backgrounds. Sharing a photo with her kids, Celina wrote, '#sindoor - 'Mama, was ist das Rote auf deiner Stirn?' (Mama, what is that red thing on your forehead?) They asked me in German, their eyes full of curiosity when they saw me wearing SINDOOR during Puja. I told them it's not just a mark; it's a sacred symbol of love, commitment, and the eternal bond of marriage for a #hindu woman. They were fascinated, and the youngest would even feel sad when I didn't wear it daily.'
