WWE Saturday Night's Main Event: 3 signs R-Truth may score a shocking win over John Cena
John Cena is set to take on R-Truth in a singles match at Saturday Night's Main Event in what many expect to be a cakewalk for the Cenation Leader. The 53-year-old has been nothing more than a lower midcard act in recent years. This, theoretically, makes him a weak opponent for the GOAT. However, going by recent developments, the possibility of Truth picking up an unexpected win over Cena can't be ruled out. Here are three signs that point towards a massive upset at Saturday Night's Main Event. The title is not on the line John Cena won the Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 41 when he beat Cody Rhodes after resorting to unfair means. Given the fact that this is his final year as a full-fledged performer, he is expected to have a longish reign. This made the outcome of his championship match against Randy Orton at Backlash predictable. Interestingly, the belt is not on the line at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. This makes the result less predictable as Cena can lose the match without his run as the champion being cut short. R-Truth can go over via a DQ or a countout. He may also manage to pin Cena with an assist. These finishes will help shake things up without affecting Cena's credibility. Cody Rhodes' return is around the corner Cody Rhodes has not been seen on WWE programming since he lost the title at WrestleMania 41. This could change at Saturday Night's Man Event. 'QB1' was recently spotted in Orlando, just two hours away from Tampa, Florida, where Saturday Night's Main Event is being held. This suggests that a return may be on the cards. He might interfere in the match if 'The Last Real Champion' tries any underhanded techniques. He may then proceed to help Truth get the three-count over Cena. Cena needs a setback to turn face again Not too long ago, journalist Dave Meltzer told Indiatimes that Cena– who turned heel at Elimination Chamber 2025, is unlikely to retire as the bad guy. Given this, a face turn is on the table. Heel Cena has often resorted to cheating to win after failing to get the job done the conventional way. He hit Rhodes with a low blow and the belt shot at 'Mania before getting the win. He did something similar against Orton at Backlash. His underhanded techniques may backfire at Saturday Night's Main Event, giving R-Truth to beat him clean. This embarrassing loss could then compel Cena to look inward and once again become the virtuous man he once was. 3 John Cena WWE matches unlikely to happen during his farewell tour
Image via WWE John Cena only has a handful of appearances on his farewell tour so many WWE stars will not get an opportunity to face him in a match. John Cena made a shocking announcement at the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank PLE. He revealed that 2025 will mark the start of his farewell tour in WWE and end in December of that year. It has been months since the start of his last leg, and Cena has competed in marquee matches. The Cenation Leader has close to 25 appearances left in his farewell tour, meaning that not all WWE superstars will get a chance for one last dance against him in the ring. Here are the top three choices who are unlikely to face John Cena in his farewell tour: 3. He was slowly rising up the ranks until his momentum was derailed with an ankle injury he suffered at the 2024 WWE Survivor Series PLE. Reed is not expected to be back for months; even if he does, it would possibly be towards the end of John Cena's farewell tour. Although he had expressed his desire to battle the 17-time champion, it seems very unlikely that Reed will get a chance to do so. 2. Joe Hendry Another popular wrestling superstar who is eyeing a match with John Cena before the end of his farewell tour is the current TNA World Champion, Joe Hendry. The captivating star, although he got a match at WrestleMania 41 against Cena's historic rival, Randy Orton, WWE might not consider him for a bout with Cena. With only limited dates and many top names WWE has that can share the ring, Hendry's chances to battle Cena look bleak at the moment. 1. The Rock The Rock returned to WWE on the road to WrestleMania 41 and joined forces with John Cena at the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE. While many fans expected, The Rock did not make any appearances following that and even chose to step out of WrestleMania on his own will. Moreover, there are no signs of him getting back in the ring due to his other commitments, making a last time mega showdown with Cena unlikely on his farewell tour. "That's how a bad guy works"- John Cena gives major endorsement to WWE's new megastar
(Image Via X) A top star revealed that John Cena had massive praise for him after witnessing his recent blockbuster match at WrestleMania 41. John Cena is coming off one of the biggest wins of his wrestling career at WrestleMania 41. However, the Cenation Leader took some time to have a brief interaction with another megastar in the making, Logan Paul . The Maverick himself was scheduled for a marquee match at The Show of Shows and revealed what Cena said to him after his bout. John Cena gave major endorsement to Logan Paul after his WrestleMania 41 match During a recent edition of his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul revealed his brief interaction with John Cena at WrestleMania 41. Earlier in the day, Cena told Paul that he looked older, since he had turned 30, saying 'You know what John Cena said to me after my match—well, earlier in the day, because I just turned 30? He said, 'You look older.' And I said, 'Wow, you really are a heel.' Following his match against AJ Styles at the show, Cena walked past Logan Paul and praised him for being a top heel. And then later in the day, after my match, he was walking by—before he became the GOAT statistically as well as just being the GOAT—he pointed at me and he said, 'Now that's how a bad guy works.' And I was like, 'Damn,' said Logan Paul. Logan Paul's Backstage Fight with John Cena, Finding God w/ George Janko, Jake Paul's Next Fight 453 Logan Paul put up a spectacular performance in his match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 41 Sunday. Following a highly intense showdown, it was the former WWE United States Champion who secured the pinfall over Styles to etch a huge win to his resume. As for John Cena, he himself created history on the same night. The Cenation Leader enlisted the help of Travis Scott and questionable tactics to dethrone Cody Rhodes and win his record-setting 17th WWE Championship. On the other hand, Logan Paul has said on numerous occasions that he would like to step in the ring with John Cena before he retires from the ring. With Cena now the ruthless Undisputed WWE Champion, it will be interesting to see if Paul could get his wish and have a match with Cena before the end of his farewell tour.
