Camping reviews: Robens Boulder 3 tent and Campingaz Camp Bistro 3 stove
The sun's out and the days are long, so it's time to go camping!
Robens Boulder 3
The summer's (almost) here, so it's time to dust off your camping gear. I was lucky enough to try out a couple of products aimed at those of who love the great outdoors.
First off was the Robens Boulder 3 tent, which is currently available for just £109.95 (down from £203.99) from Outdoor World.
It's a lightweight adventure tent designed for anyone wanting something quick and easy to pitch for multi-day treks, festivals, bikepacking, and more.
Set-up is pretty quick. My partner and I had no problem pitching in good time. Well, I say no problem, every time we ended up with two poles left over that despite going over the instructions again and again, and many searches of YouTube, we just couldn't find where they should be installed.
However, despite this the flame-retardant tent was extremely sturdy. It sleeps up to three people (so plenty of space for two), and the alloy poles brings the weight of the tent to just 2.9kg.
The dome-style tent offers plenty of storage and a twin door porch for convenient entry. Rain-safe vents offer protection from the elements while allowing air to flow inside the tent, and the taped seams offer additional waterproofing.

We've had it up in our garden (the kids have been loving it) but would have no hesitation taking it further afield (if you will). The mix of lightweight strength makes it perfect for trips away.

Simple, straightforward and very easy to carry around, the Campingaz Camp Bistro 3 is currently available for £29.99 (down from £36.99) from Outdoor Direct.
This one-burner stove comes in a plastic case with a handle, and does what it says on the tin. It runs off a CP250 cartridge and is ideal for rustling up a quick meal while out in nature. This updated model boasts a number of new safety features, including allowing the cartridge to be ejected when not in use and an auto cut-off if it gets too hot.
It can handle pans up to 26cm, is also fixed so that it cannot be replaced incorrectly and is elevated so heat does not get pushed downwards. The piezo ignition means no need for matches and runs off.
It's a simple device (which means there's less to go wrong!), which I really appreciated. I had a cup of tea on the go in no time!
