Liberty County softball lives on

BRISTOL, Fla. (WMBB) – For the fourth consecutive year, the Liberty County Bulldogs have earned a spot in the postseason. The 21–3 Lady Bulldogs currently ride an eight-game winning streak after shutting out Franklin County in the state quarterfinals. The Bulldogs are no strangers to postseason play, and many players have already achieved their yearly goal of earning a state ring — a testament to the determination and personality of the team. Coach Jennifer Sewell has once again guided the Bulldogs to the state tournament. 'Four years in a row — pretty awesome,' Sewell said. 'These kids work hard and they're never satisfied. They set goals and amaze me every day. We're going to take it day by day and buy in. We're not going to let anyone intimidate us. We have a pretty good team.' Sewell noted the team is aware of their upcoming challenge. 'We know Trenton has a really good pitcher, and we've been preparing for the last few days. The main thing is just to hit the ball.' The team boasts a deep pool of talent, including key underclassmen who have stepped up this year. 'Cha'maya has been a big force on the mound. She's working hard,' Sewell said. 'We've also had some big bats and great defensive plays from Tyler Kincaid. Along with Mackenzie Walker, Tyler Kincaid, and Lauren Davis, some freshmen have stepped up, which has been huge.' The Bulldogs will face Trenton High School in the state semifinals in Orlando on Wednesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
