The Arizona Cardinals are in offseason mode and we are days away from free agency and weeks from the NFL draft. Leading up to the new league year, we will take a look at each player on the roster or signed to a reserve deal and break down where they stand with the team.
We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season.
Next up is kicker Chad Ryland.
2024 Chad Ryland stats, season
Ryland joined the team in Week 5 after Matt Prater suffered what would end up being a season-ending knee injury. Bouncing back from a rough rookie season in 2023 with the New England Patriots, he made game-winning field goals in the final minute in three of the first four games he played.
He made 28-of-32 field goals with a long of 57 yards and 26-of-27 extra points.
He was named a Pro Bowl alternate.
2025 contract status
Ryland is signed through 2025. He is scheduled to make $1.03 million.
Outlook for 2025
Ryland is expected to be the Cardinals' kicker moving forward. He was both consistent and clutch. Prater will be a free agent and is 40 years old, so the Cardinals were fortunate to find his replacement without having to compete with other teams in free agency. It is possible the Cardinals bring in another kicker in to compete during the offseason, but Ryland established himself as a guy the team can count on.
