CM Yogi to review pace of Ganga Expressway work today

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Hardoi, Shahjahanpur and Hapur districts on Sunday to carry out a review of the ongoing works on Ganga Expressway . Ganga Expressway is a key priority for the state govt and a crucial infrastructure project in UP's journey to development, said a govt spokesperson. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for this project at Shahjahanpur on Dec 18, 2021. The official said the CM will first visit Chainage 62+200 in Alamnagar Bangar village, Garhmukteshwar tehsil, Hapur, under the Meerut-Budaun section. He will then visit Chainage 242+650 at Peeru village, Jalalabad tehsil, Shahjahanpur in Budaun-Hardoi section, followed by Chainage 347+000 at Hasanpur Gopal village, Bilgram tehsil, Hardoi in Hardoi-Unnao section. IC Markets Start Now Undo The Ganga Expressway is being constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and will connect the western and eastern parts of the state, stretching approximately 600 km from Meerut to Prayagraj. "This expressway will not only boost industrial and economic development in the state, but will also integrate small towns and rural areas into the mainstream. It is expected to generate new opportunities in agriculture, trade, tourism, and investment. This expressway is considered a major contributor to the PM Gati Shakti initiative, which aims to propel India towards becoming a USD 5 trillion economy," the official added.
