Chambersburg shooting leaves one hospitalized
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A shooting left one person hospitalized in Chambersburg early this morning. According to the Chambersburg Police Department, on April 19 at around 2:23 a.m., authorities responded to East Washington Street at Central Avenue for reports of a male with a gunshot wound to the leg. Subscribe Now Upon arrival, police encountered the victim and had them transported to a trauma center with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Police say they believe that the victim and actor were engaged in a mutual confrontation before the shooting, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The incident is currently under investigation, per police. Chambersburg Police announce passing of K-9 Basco
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Chambersburg Police have announced the passing of K-9 Basco after seven years of service. According to the Chambersburg Police Department, Basco served the Chambersburg community with his partner, PFC John Sgrignoli, for seven years until his retirement in 2021. K-9 Basco was involved in multiple suspect apprehensions and narcotics seizures during his career, per police. K-9 Basco died of natural causes.
